I see a lot of outrage over this statement in the echo chamber. I think Juan is right. Well, a man ahead of his time, let's put it that way. But don't worry, right wingers and libertarians. It surely won't get worse than this.
Just where does he come up with the demographics that voted in the Missouri primary? Let alone those who voted on that one particular proposal on the ballot?
Williams is a liberal hack that could not predict his way out of a paper bag. He gives Alan Colmes a good name.
True, he is a liberal hack. However, he is serving the very useful function of demonstrating where we are at and with a little imagination where we are headed. Can you imagine anyone on TV discounting a vote because mostly blacks or hispanics voted for it?
We can ignore statements like this to our own peril. In ten years, after amnesty, they won't be so funny or disputable.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYEVH1DrUmo&fe... GAH!! rage rage rage. All votes are equal but some are more equal than others. Secondly.he does have a point. The courts overturning prop 8 in California is a bad sign for any and all states rights issues such as this. But in a final point it will never go to court as requiring people to buy health insurance; they have already pivoted and are calling it a tax a la OASDI.
Juan Williams, unfortunately, is a necessary evil at Fox News. Unfortunately it takes having him to refute much of the slander about Fox being racist. He's black, has half a brain and will go toe to to with anyone on the "right". He usually doesn't win his arguments, but he at least makes an argument for the other side. That gives Fox a commodity that the other networks are strongly lacking-an opposing viewpoint. Like him or not (which I don't), I believe he is a necessary evil for Fox News to be legitimate. The really scary thing though., is when he starts agreeing with you about government overstepping it's bounds as recently, on occasion Williams has. It makes one realize how far left we've moved when people like Juan Williams join you in thinking government has gone way too far left.
But why is that viewpoint a necessary voice? That is the bigger issue.
To me, the story isn't Juan Williams. The story is Juan Williams says this and he is right on the money in some strange prophetic way and middle America, Fox's audience, sighs and shrugs their shoulders.
In order for those at Fox to debate the "left", they need a leftie with credibility to debate. As a lefty and contributor to NPR, Williams has cred and is willing to try and make a case between he and multiple conservatives daily. I strongly dislike his views, but I believe in having all views stated. Showing both sides of a debate is what makes Fox news half decent when it comes to news. Take this praise of FN with a grain of salt as I am not as big a fan of Fox News as most of you.
You are absolutely correct, but you are used to debating such people. The audience intended for this is the crowd that catch more interest in this. A crowd big enough to tip political scales but don't know it. The biker crowd is a big crowd.
A coke?????? Seriously, it can't be an easy job getting the tar kicked out of you by hannity,Oreilly ("Oh really") and even the lowly Carlson Tucker. Without him,Fox would have few honest peole that make a decent case for the other side. Do I aree with him, not usually, but without him, is Fox fair and balanced?
The states are doing a good job of derailing BHO's agenda. The states, like Arizona are telling the Feds to stick it on a whole number of issues. This is a bright spot in a bad time.
