HARTFORD, Conn. – Connecticut Sen. Christopher Dodd said Friday that he has been diagnosed with an early stage of prostate cancer (in a preventive procedure likely not allowed under O-Care) and will have surgery in early August, (no waiting list for him) but the prognosis is good (thanks to the best medical care on the planet, can I get a Hell Yeah?)and the illness will not affect his plans to seek a sixth term next year. DAMMMIT
Dodd said the cancer was detected in June during his annual physical and the results were confirmed by a biopsy.(in a preventive procedure likely not allowed under O-Care) He said he plans to have surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York (The Hospital of his choice) shortly after Congress adjourns next week and is "very confident we're going to come out of this well."
Dodd also used the diagnosis to make a pitch for overhauling the nation's health care system. (whaaa? Isn’t this a triumph of the very healthcare system his minions are trying to destroy?)
"For a person who loses health care coverage, that physical may not be something that you can afford," he said. "I'm fortunate as a member of Congress to have those benefits." (benefits that I am not going to give up and I am certainly not going to share them with the rest of you commoners, to all of you I say “Let them eat Cake”)
