Geaux Saints!

Why did I root for the Saints? Cause they were the underdogs. Never won one. Weren't favored to win this one. And yet, they did. It gives me hope. Sometimes good things happen to those that deserve good things to happen.

I wuzza rootin' for Indy, but after all, that's my hometown. Gotta say those Saints played an excellent game. Onside kick was not expected and they made the MOST of it!! Also, the 2 point conversion was an outstanding call ... almost made bozos out of the officials, but they reviewed it and made the right call. All in all, N'Awlins DESERVED the win!! Congratulations!
For once I went into this game having no bias, but when I heard about the gruelling preparation practice schedule the Saints players committed to during the pre-game, and considered what New Orleans went through with Katrina( having the city you call home obliterated by a hurricane happened to me in Florida a year before Katrina) the Saints won my fanhood for the superbowl. I like seeing the hungry team win and the Saints were the hungrier team. The coaches ran some very inconventional plays, and as a fan of defensive football, I thought thought the Saints defensive coordinator should have been MVP, especially for the 4th quarter scheme. I thought the most deserving, and hungriest team won. This will bring much needed tourist money and a needed morale boost to New Orleans residents who still have the daunting task of rebuilding after Katrina.
The onside kick, fantastic...the challenge to the play for the two points, tense...the interception and return for the TD...best thing I have seen in a long time. It was a good game, and the Colts played well, but they didnt have the magic.

Yes, all those things showed hunger. The Saints were playing and coaching like they were all in in a poker game. The Colts were playing not to lose. Most of you don't watch as much college football as I do, but the Saints were very reminiscent of 00-02 Miami Hurricanes who seemed to pull such insane plays out of their rears every week. (Jeremy Shockey played on those teams and now plays tight end/ wide receiver for the Saints). I love it when a team let's it all hang out like that. And attempting such things is easy, executing is a whole different ball of wax. New Orleans executed.
OK, I honestly didn't even know who was in the Superbowl this year. Is that wrong?
