Blog Updates

Periodically it is good to go over the changes and tweaks to the blog.  It has been a long time since I have done one of these and we have a lot of newer readers since then so I am going to go through a lot of the things that the blog will do.  Remember I love feedback, I do this for me, but more than that I do it for you.
Up at the top you have the Rotating Post Generator…it just cycles through the posts, click on one if it catches your fancy. Under that on the left you have the Look it Up! section  you can search Google, the dictionary, and Wikipedia right from there and the pages conveniently open in a new window.
Also in this section is the new KOOK and AD33 greatest hits dropdown menu, these are our faves and posts that we have received praise for.
Under that on left is the Humble Libertarian Button, I agree with his view that instead of “Don’t Tread on Me!” we should say “I won’t Tread on You!” subtle distinction with huge implications
Then you got the Intense Debate Comment Stream…lets you see what the latest comments are on the blog, keeps us up to speed.  Below that is the tag cloud for the Blog, kind of like seeing what is going on in My Head (scary)Lower Down you got the Feedjit live traffic feed, where you can see where people are coming from to read our humble scribblings. Next is Guns Save Lives, the coolest roundup of guns thwarting crimes and protecting people evah!
Sad but true, I have officially been assimilated by the Twitter, I am still learning how to use this technology but hopefully it will help us spread the word.

Top Middle above the first post is the rotating QuotesDaddy List of Kook’s fav Quotes…if you like them you can ask me for them and I will send you the link to the feed. 
Below each post there are several little buttons, we have the Linkwithin section that helps you pick other posts you may like. The link to leave comments, Email a link to a friend, Sharethis post - using one or several sharing sites, if you click the post title itself and go to the actual post page you can also send a Bit.Ly link via Twitter to your Peeps.
Running down the right side is the Countdown to Liberty, counting the days under our subjugation and the days until our next opportunity for freedom; all the kind folks that do not think we are crazy, or are as crazy as us. My closest Blog Buddy’s Blogs.  A box to subscribe to a daily email of the newest posts and links, Subscribe with RSS to the post feed, fave me on technorati, or add me to delicious,  The Archives of all of our Rantings, Some more partners in the cause, vote for no confidence banner with link to the website, my latest delicious links and the resist net banner.
And as always at the very top left of the screen you can search within the blog for keywords to find exactly what you are looking for.
Whew!…lotsa information on the ol’ blog these days.
We are up to an average 113 readers a day from well over thirty states, many email subscribers and 87 followers, and a rapidly growing hit count,  and we are thankful to each and everyone of you !

---- Correction/Addition--- Previously I failed to mention a couple other changes.  AD33 has begun using some really neato software and is doing some really BaDa$$  original artwork for the blog now. 
In addition to that I have figured out how to properly insert pictures so that they are always clickable to enlarge and also how to put alternative text into them…

Planned for future is the Picasa Photostream for the blog…

Latest Blog Updates

Just a quick update on some minor changes to the blog. I changed the labels to a tag cloud, this takes up less room and is a visual representation of the topics we cover. Joel and I are. Not always good at adding labels to our posts and periodically I go in and relabel everything. But as the blog grows larger and larger post wise this topical indexing becomes more Important so we wil do better. I changed the intense debate comments plugin to use a pop-up style interface; this wil make it easier for iPhone users (including Joel and I)
You all have no doubt noticed the linked in suggestions foe other posts you might enjoy; this is a really great plugin I first saw over at TCL. This plugin has made it more desireable to insert pictures into our posts and readers, it seems like pictures anyway, so I wil be using pictures more often. Other than that I just want to say thanks to all the folks who are joining us everyday, and hello to the new folks. Joel and I boh appreciate the positive comments we have received. We all must just keep fighting the fight and stay our course because it appears we are beginning to win.

Blog Updates

Been a while since I changed much on here but I recently made some changes and thought some might like to know. I split my Blog Roll in two. There are some folks that post more regularly than others and some of us that seem to work together more frequently, so they get their own. I want to follow as many as I can and it was getting harder to keep track of who I have read.

I added the bookshelf on the bottom right. Those are all books I recommend, and you can buy them straight from the widget I think. Caution, they might make you Kooky.

It is not adware, still not doing this for money. Probably never will.

I changed the Google Search to Yahoo search and if anyone wonders why, I guess it is personal preference on my part. Google is good, but I never get what I want.

I recently joined http://www.resist.net/ and I think everyone who reads this bog should too. It is probably the way we can unite to get the candidate we need.

I keep playing with how much gets displayed on the main page daily. I am never satisfied with that.

Thanks to everyone who is reading and commenting. This is surpassing where I ever thought it would go.

Blog Problems

So it appears that my blog is one that was affected recently with the scheduled maintenance. I had to remove several widgets to get it to even load. Apparently Google is aware and is working on the problem. I was relieved to see that it is a known issue and that it was not something I did.
hopefully I can get everything put back soon.

I have not disappeared

Just been really busy at work. I will get back in the swing of things shortly. I am reading stuff just have not been able to write much.

Reports of me blowing away are greatly exaggerated

Nor was I hauled off by the ATF, the FBI, the DHS, the DOJ, the IRS, or Secret Service

But I am out of power due to the super awesome storm that happened this morning.
Work was cancelled and I got a head start on Mother's day weekend.

and to anyone else who wondered where I went: I am fine. I did not miss rating the weasel today. I gave Chris Dodd an "F"..because he sucks.

I just want to clarify some things...in case you are listening

Recent developments have made it worthwhile for me to clarify my positions on a few things:

I catergorically do not promote any sort of violence against any official or governmental agency or representative thereof.
-I do believe that it may become necessary some day to protect ourselves and our property in the seemingly inevitable event that governmental services break down causing rampant looting and crime in the absence of law and order

I wish no harm against the president or his family.
- I do not think he and I share the same outlook or view of our countries history or share the same vision for our future.

I am against abortion at all times
I do not promote any violence against those who choose to murder their children

I am completely and 100% in favor of strict literal views of the constitution.
- I am completely and utterly against any attempt at violent overthrow of the government.
- I believe that we have the means to a peaceful revoltuion at the ballot box

I am a firm believer in the 2nd amendment, and I believe that it was put into place for the exact literal reason as stated in the constitution.
- I am NOT in favor of citizens owning RPGs or heavy machine guns

I am not a member of the Aryan Nation, the KKK, a militia, the masons, the rotary, the kiwanis, the eagles, the moose club, the lions club, the shriners, the illuminati, heck I am not even a boy scout.

I am against 50+% taxes, universal: education, healthcare, or housing.
I do not believe in anthropogenic climate change.
I am for securing our border and stopping illegal immigration.


Now many of you may be puzzled as to why I am affirming that I am not in any way advocating violence or threats of violence. The simple reason is because at approximately 6:00 pm CST I received a call that my cousin's apartment complex was the target of a raid by the county authorities, the ATF, the FBI, and possibly the Secret Service. I am not joking. Some dipshit had made threats against several local officials, and the POTUS, from an unsecured wireless network belong to a resident of the apartment complex. They were confiscating peoples' computers and other property. No warrants were in evidence. The first thought I had...well okay, the first thought I had was "you've got to be joking", second thought I had was "holy crap, they read my blog."

Now remember folks, I live in Southwest Missouri, and my family lives in Southeast Missouri, and for those of you who do not know it Southeast Missouri is very very rural.

So I just wanted to clarify. you know...in case...

Blog Updates

Just thought I would do a short post on some new things here on the blog.

WISER WORDS NEVER SPOKEN - this is a pretty long list of my favorite quotes shown at random and updated every 15 mintues or so from QuotesDaddy.com. Many from the founders and other great philosophers are in there. If anyone wants access to the feed email and let me know. I will share.

KOOK FILE- I went back through my old emails and posted several from Before the Blog (B.B.). I labeled all of these as KOOK FILE. So if you want something else to read they are all labeled under that with the date 3/1/2009. These are not necessarily all my opinion. Some are funny emails and what not, and I will probably add to them as I go along.

INTENSE DEBATE - Installed Intense debate for commenting. This system is better than the regular blog comment system and it allows us to vote comments up or down. So if we do actually get some debate going on here it may be useful. Another great feature is the recent comment list on the left column near the bottom. It is a quick way to see what posts have had activity lately.

LIVE TRAFFIC - Bottom of Right Column; I thought this was kind of nifty, it lets us see when people viewed teh site and for how long and from where. Just kind of cool info for me.

RANDOM POSTS - This has been on here a while, but down at the bottom of the screen there is a box which cycles through old posts, so if something catches your eye you can follow it

FOX NEWS - The ticker is down there rolling through the latest political headlines from FOX

BOOKMARKS from DELICIOUS - These are my favorites from around the web.

Changes to the Blog

I guess it is rather obvious that I have changed the blog around. I figured out how to add a third column (with a lot of help from posts from The Blog Doctor) There was just too much stuff I wanted to add to the blog.

I am getting really riled up over the amount of news coverage given to the Psychos who use tools the wrong way. I am talking about guns. It is tragic, it is awful, it is sad, and it should not happen, but the problem is the person, not the gun. And even Glenn Beck fell into the trap of over reporting and over covering something tragic but very one sided. I want someone somewhere to report the lives guns have saved. So I found this blog and it has it's own special place right up there in the left corner. Just under the Google and Wikipedia Searches. Clayton Cramer does a fantastic job with this. I only wish I could make all his posts into a ticker.

Speaking of Ticker, there is the Fox Political news feed ticker right there on the top of the page.
You can also now subsribe to a daily email of all new posts by signing up, this is in the right column a little ways down.

I am trying hard to make this blog entertaining, informative, and useful, so if anyone has any suggestions (be nice) let me know.
