  Like that title? I am just practicing, trying to remember my Espanol.

So, Following up on Yesterday’s Post,  Puerto Rico – A New State full of Potential Progressive Voters, the House voted In Favor, including 50 of our closest allies  (Distance is relative, remember, Mars is the next closest planet to earth but still a long long… long way from us) the Republicans, to ‘reaffirm’ Puerto Rico’s right to self determination.  A right they have had for six decades now. Let me be clear® I am not against Puerto Rico becoming a State, not if that is really what the People IN –IN-Puerto Rico want.  Heck, it looks like it would be just an abs-o-lutely fantastic place to visit: The article below is actually from a LeftStreamMedia Source and it almost tells the whole story, of course without any outrage over the bills most ridiculous affront to common sense and ethics to come out of Washington, well in at least the last 24 hours:

Bitter debate ensues as House approves bill that could move Puerto Rico to statehood

  The House on Thursday approved a bill that could move Puerto Rico to statehood - exposing a rare and bitter rift between New York members from the island territory.

Bronx Democratic Rep. Jose Serrano ( THIS GUY is one of the worst, he is the one that always pushes the bill to remove presidential term limits) backed the measure, calling it a vital step to ending colonial rule, even as his usual ally, Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-Brooklyn) blasted it as a "disgrace," "shameful" and "appalling." (thank you for that, Nydia)

The measure offers Puerto Rico - a U.S. territory for 112 years - a two-step vote.

The first would ask whether Puerto Ricans -

including those living in the States - like the current territorial commonwealth status or if they want change.

If the vote is for change, a second vote would ask what change they want.

"For the first time in 112 years, the Congress of the United States will ask the 4 million American citizens (A huge Liberal Voting Bloc) in Puerto Rico what they wish their relationship to the United States to be," said Serrano.

Velazquez and Harlem Rep. Charlie Rangel, whose father was Puerto Rican, said the measure was a backdoor move to a statehood vote on the island that has failed three times in the past. –OH MY GOD, Charlie Rangel said something bordering on common sensical…  I expect to see unicorns any moment now…

"It is baffling that the statehood option, which lost in 1967, in 1993 and again in 1998, is now allowed to scheme its way to victory," Velazquez said.

Before the debate, the bill had offered three options for change: statehood, independence or an independent "free association" like three other former U.S. territories.

Velazquez argued that if keeping the current status was no longer on the ballot, statehood - always the second choice in the past - would win by default.

She favors a Puerto Rican constitutional convention.

Velazquez managed to win an amendment to add keeping the status quo to the choices.

"We restored some fairness to a badly flawed process," she said.

Still, Serrano was so pleased he wielded the final gavel, hammering it down with a wide smile.

Just one more piece of standard equipment.  “Well captain we have almost all of the staff figured out, but we still need to fill the ship’s  standard complement of women”  And once those three are on board, If I were a woman I think I would always wonder ‘am I here because I was good, or because they needed three females per boat?’

Because a junior officer's room was designed to bunk three people, the Navy plans to admit three women -- two junior officers and a senior officer -- onto each of its eight Trident submarine crews by January 2012.

They will have to share a bathroom with nine men, but the Navy says the crew will use a simple reversible sign to indicate who is using the facilities, enabling both sexes to get the privacy they demand. No modifications required.

…The Navy hopes the penalties for "fraternizing" -- ranging from fines to dismissal and two years' confinement – will ease some of those concerns.

…One issue [the navy] is dealing with is whether the policy will carry over to the enlisted ranks, where more than 80 sailors, some as young as 17, sleep nine to a room and share two bathrooms.

"To bring women enlisted on board we'd actually have to make modifications to the ship," he said. "I can't tell you exactly what they would be, because although we're beginning to look at this, we really haven't gone far enough down the road to determine which submarines we're going to put them on and how we're going to make sure they have privacy."

The Navy says it isn't having a problem meeting its recruitment goals for enlisted sailors, so it has time to explore the issue. And it sees no better starting point than admitting female officers…

It is just simply not a smart idea.  Who does it really benefit? 24 women in the entire Navy?  Does it really increase the Navy’s capacity? I smell a rat, there is a politician at the bottom of this somewhere.

Puerto Rico – A New State full of Potential Progressive Voters

Ok, here is the quick and dirty History of Puerto Rico.  Puerto Rico lies nestled right between Haiti/Dominican Republic and the British Virgin Islands.  It is in the same island chain as Cuba.  To get it in your mind right, Cuba is closest, then then Haiti/Dominican and then Puerto Rico.

 

Christopher Columbus landed on the island, which was inhabited by Amerindian Natives, in 1493 on his second voyage and claimed it for Spain.  Spain had it as a colony until the Spanish American war, in 1898 the United States invaded.  The US got Puerto Rico, Guam, Cuba, the Philippines in the Treaty of Paris.  They began their relationship with the US as a territory governed my Martial Law, two years later moved to mostly self governed using systems virtually identical to a State’s, In 1917 all the inhabitants became citizens of the US, they began having popular elections of representatives and gained a US style Judicial system, Under Truman they got a regularly elected governor and other trappings of statehood including non voting representatives in DC, this had the effect of changing its’ status from Territory to Commonwealth or “Free Associated State”.  All of this was paving the way for a vote for statehood, currently three different plebiscites or votes have been taken by the people and all three have failed to win enough votes to make Puerto Rico our 51st state.

Why?

Well it probably has a lot to do with getting something for nothing.  To put it another way, why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?  They have all of the benefits of statehood, with fewer taxes. 

Enter The Zero Regime…

There is a bill up for vote today to support Puerto Rico’s right to self determination.  This is on the face of it, nonsense.  Puerto Rico already has that right and has expressed itself three times to remain as it is.  BUT, just like Yesterday’s post on Amnesty and Illegal Immigration, granting Puerto Rico Statehood would win many many Liberal Progressive voters.

You doubt it?

The UN is heavily involved in the push for a change in Puerto Rico’s status.     From 1952 to 2007, Puerto Rico had three political parties which stood for three distinct future political scenarios. The Popular Democratic Party (PPD) seeks to maintain the island's "association" status as a commonwealth, and has won in referendums on the island's status held over six decades since coming under U.S. control.  The New Progressive Party (PNP) (catchy isn’t it?) seeks statehood. The Puerto Rican Independence Party seeks independence.

The real clincher on this one is this:  apparently in the bills that will follow this “nonbinding” vote today is a provision to allow people born in Puerto Rico but currently living in the continental US to vote on Puerto Rico’s status.  Read it again, a US citizen, born in Puerto Rico but currently living in, say, Illinois, will be able to vote in the self determination vote for Puerto Rico.

According to the latest estimates 70%  of Puerto Ricans cannot speak English passably, and many many of the recent immigrants TO Puerto Rico have been from Central America including Venezuela and Colombia and also from Cuba. 

Now ask yourself, in a Liberal House and Senate do you think, for an instant that if Nasty Pelotox and Dingy Harry and Chairman Zero thought that the people of Puerto Rico would:

a) Vote for statehood on their own without stacking the deck and;

b) vote in any way Conservative Republican or Libertarian after gaining statehood

They would a) stack the deck and b) want there to be a vote?

So here is what I think they are up to regarding Puerto Rico, it all seems to make some sense, They have this vote to affirm Puerto Rico’s right to Self Determination.  Puerto Rico already has a constitution, a popularly elected government, follows all federal regulations, and its’ populace are all citizens.

The Current Speaker of the House, President of the Senate,  and Governor are all members of this “New Progressive Party” (although actually claim to align themselves with Republicans, lending more credence to the crazy notion that Parties really do not matter), once this sham vote takes place in congress, they will call another referendum, although this time allow anyone born in Puerto Rico no matter where they reside (or actually probably no matter if they were born in Puerto Rico or not) to vote.  Then, because there are already delegates in Congress, they will immediately ask to be seated and BLAMMO we have a 51st state.  Then these so called republicans will decide they will caucus with the Liberals and Bingo, we are back to a filibuster proof super majority. 

Heck- they might just do it without resorting to a vote.  Congress votes in a nonbinding agreement that Puerto Rico has the right to self determination, and bang the delegates are seated as senators and representatives.  Sew another star on the flag boys and girls…

So take Amnesty for Illegals, throw in Puerto Rico, and what do you have…the re-election of the most rapidly unpopular president in history to a second term.

Who are the Anarchists Now? Arizona Immigration Enforcement

Let’s put this in perspective, you are often asked to show your ID when you use your credit or debit card, you have to produce ID to get a loan, buy a home, apply for assistance, enroll for school, fly on a plane, stay in a hotel, or rent a car.  Every time I have been stopped by the police I have been asked to produce license and proof of insurance.  But asking for documentation to prove legal residency in this country is an affront to civil rights? What about my Civil Rights?

I will now have to prove to the IRS every year that I have purchased Federally mandated health insurance, but we cannot ask anyone to prove legal residency in this country? Seriously?

I still cannot wrap my mind around the mental gymnastics required to reconcile that a person who is here illegally, has not committed a crime. If you will break our laws to get here in the first place why are you amazed we automatically think you will break others while you are here?  How does one become an UNdocumented worker if Documents are irrelevant?  I mean really we do not have pass amnesty at all if we just quit being a nation of laws.

Of course, that would gloss over the fact that Arizona has become the 2nd place winner in the World Kidnapping Olympics…right behind, huh…Mexico City.  Phoenix has more Kidnappings per day than anywhere else in the USA.

It is Racist to affirm enforcement of a Federal Law?  Of course it is.  And all the cops are racists too.  Arizona is only 30% Latino according the the last census (which I am sure did not include many of the soon to be citizens of this country), so I am sure none of the police officers are Latino, and none of them would be married to a Latino. Nope they are all a bunch of White Racists.

What the pResident and the Left Stream Media are asking the border states to do is to ignore Federal Law, which puts us in the powerful and unique position of getting to choose which laws to enforce and which laws to ignore.  If the Feral Government is so intent on not enforcing their own law then why not do as Silverfiddle from Western Hero suggests and repeal it?  Just do away with Customs and ICE and Border Patrol, and all of that.  If we can pick and choose what laws we want to follow or not, then why have them in the first place?  That is the logical conclusion to the line of thought now being pushed.  Most liberals are in favor of not enforcing Marijuana laws as well.  So if we are not going to follow Drug Laws, and we are not going to follow Immigration laws, and we rarely follow voting eligibility laws, then guess I don’t have to follow laws that I don’t particularly like either.

NO, that is wrong, we do not get to pick and choose, folks.  Just because we do not think a law is Just (for the record I am in favor of the AZ law, and have mixed opinion on the weed issue) we do not get to decide whether or not we follow it.  People who know me and have been listening know that I have said repeatedly that whoever gives amnesty to the illegal aliens in this country is pretty much guaranteed a 60 year electoral majority.  This is about politics plain and simple, this is how the most rapidly unpopular administration our nation has ever seen plans to stay in power.

I think that this has been a goal of people like William Ayers and Saul Alinsky for years and years, Anarchy for everyone, courtesy of the Progressive Liberal Establishment.

History Channel's "The Story of Us" and Irony

I watched the first episode of this great documentary series on the history channel tonight. It covered events leading up to the revolutionary war and it dovetails nicely with a couple of books I recently read. I find it very ironic that an otherwise entertaining and excellent series covering information that should be required material for every citizen of this country was introduced/prefaced by a man that apparently has little understanding of, or reverence for, the material itself. The series was introduced by none other than his one-ness, The pResident, chairman zero.

Secondly, does anyone else find it odd that a sitting president is endorsing a History channel documentary like Marlin Perkins hawking Mutual of Omaha insurance? What is next, selling an energy drink or some sportswear?

Maybe he should watch it instead of reading a TelePrompTer script of what one of his handlers thought a true blue USA loving American would say... You know what a good President would have actually felt and thought...

Western Hero: Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics

Good Job Silverfiddle… Saw this and had to repost it.  Facts are so damned Inconvenient to the Liberal Mind.  Frankly someone as ruled by emotion as Liberals typically are have a weak grasp of logic and facts anyway. I saw this same study and had very similar thoughts.

Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics

Statistics are great for getting to down to brass tacks and weeding the BS out of a debate, but they are not the nail that closes the lid on a case.  Consider Major League Baseball, a realm awash in statistics.  Experts still argue over who was the best hitter or second baseman.

Bill Quigley at Common Dreams wrote a piece entitled "Nine Myths about Socialism in the United States."

His argument is that those on the right who accuse the government of creeping socialism are engaging in hysteria. He argues that we do not have socialism in this country by plucking statistics from an OECD study, favoring categories that we lag behind in.  We are not socialist, he argues, because we are embarrassingly behind in areas like mandatory maternity leave, worker and family support (whatever that means), and education spending.

First off, he's tilting at straw men, probably in an attempt to lampoon conservatives who have overused the "S word."  We do have some Western European-style socialistic ideas creeping in, but few rightwingers are raising the specter of Soviet tanks rolling into the town square.

I find it funny that implicit in his argument is that if we were socialist we would rank high in these categories.  So while he chastises conservatives for indiscriminate use of the socialist smear, he tacitly argues that more of it would be a good thing.  Also, ridiculously, his argument presumes there is a socialist Valhalla somewhere out there where everyone is taken care of, and if we only provided more social services like the Europeans do all would be Nirvana here.

Yes, the European safety net is more generous than ours, but they suffer chronic double-digit unemployment, high rates of permanent disability, and have less living space.  Which would you prefer? 

Common sense makes you scratch your head and think "Somethin' ain't right...  How can Cuba have a better health care system than the US?  Why aren't heads of state flocking there (or to Finland) instead of the US?  Why did Cuba's communist dictator call for Spanish doctors when he fell ill?

A statistic without context is just a sterile number.  Placing it in context and relating it to relevant facts, unwinding it, is where we actually learn something useful. 

Consider these three facts about life in These United States:

• Women make less than men 
• Life expectancy is lower and infant mortality is higher than in other developed nations
• Young women pay more than young men for health insurance

Not fair?  Let's investigate!

Why Women get paid less than men

Dr. Thomas Sowell shows how one can aggregate or disaggregate sample data to make a point.

A good example is pay inequality.  Men make more than women.  Stated technically, the male cohort in the Unites states makes more than the female cohort, on a per person basis.  Sounds bad, doesn't it?  Well, women take time off to have babies and care for sick friends and relatives more than men do, causing them as a group to have more interruptions in work history.  Some professions place a premium on that.  

But put that aside and look at education.  Are men more educated?  No.  Aha!  But wait.  

All college degrees are not deemed equal in the marketplace.  Men tend to get the degrees that earn high income, while women tend more towards liberal arts and social sciences, which do not make as much money.  Compare profession by profession, and the pay disparity disappears.

Life Expectancy and Infant Mortality

BigGovHealth breaks this one down, as does David Hogberg.  Life expectancy is lower here, but not because of our health care system.  We are an adventurous and violent people.  Control for murders and accidents, and our life expectancy actually beats everybody.  Dying from a drive-by shooting or losing your grip while cliff climbing is not the fault of the greatest health care system in the world. 

Infant Mortality numbers are affected by how a country defines and reports it.  We use a broader definition than Canada and European countries, which increases our numbers.

WebMD notes that a higher incidence of premature births in the US contributes to our high numbers, and BigGovHealth shows that Europe and Canada don't even report certain categories of preemie deaths.

Teen pregnancies and women over 40 giving birth are higher risk categories, and we have more of those.  Add in octo-mom scenarios caused by fertility drugs, where it is rare for all babies to survive, and we have a more complete picture.

Studies and anecdotal data have shown that some communities lack access to adequate pre-natal care, but is that a valid reason to reorder the nation's entire health care system?  And why play games to make things look worse than they are?  It must be to manipulate the masses.

Why young women pay more for health insurance than young men

Consider this simple fact:  Young women pay more for health insurance than young men.  Unfair, right?

The reason is that women in their childbearing years consume more health care, and more expensive care, than men.  Also, as people age, it flips:  Men over 50 pay more for health insurance than women in the same age category.  Still unfair? 

It's not fair!

We can argue whether all of this is "fair," as liberals are wont to do, but let's establish facts first before the jousting begins.  A logical next step for the liberal would be to set up laws that make an employer not consider work experience or degree discipline, and to demand insurance companies charge everybody the same rate.  I'll leave it to you to consider the consequences...

The life expectancy and infant mortality information, placed in context, shuts down the "inadequate health care is killing Americans" argument.  Do people lack health care in this country?  You betcha!  But you need to find another line of argumentation, this one has been disproved.

The next time you see anyone spouting statistics, go and search for an opposing (or corroborating) point of view.

As the drumbeat for Cap and Tax starts up again it is important not to forget how silly the whole Anthropogenic Climate Change argument has become and this post highlights that very well.  Apparently Air Traffic cools the planet.  Who knew?  The little vapor trails off of airplanes actually make temperatures go down planet wide (OH, COME ON!)

Correlation is not the same as Causation.  Grounding planes after 9/11 did not change WEATHER and it damn sure did not change CLIMATE. Following this logic I could say this: “ I ate a peanut butter sandwich yesterday and the sun shone all day long; therefore eating PB sandwiches makes the weather sunny and bright”. Secondly the GIANT ASH CLOUD *should* make it slightly, if not quite a bit, COOLER; despite the lack of contrails off of airplanes “making it hotter” (never mind that according to their standard fantasies jet exhaust makes the planet hotter).  So I guess the question in their minds (as if they used their minds to question anything) is:  Will the Man Made warming caused by Jet Exhaust be completely counteracted by the cooling effect of the Volcano (I am waiting for them to figure out a reason for the volcano eruption to be man-caused), and will the absence of the Jet Contrail water vapor contribute to more of a warming effect that the absence of jet exhaust will contribute to a cooling effect?   OH MY DEAR LORD -

Anyway, read on:

According to a report in the UK Mail online, the widespread grounding of planes in Europe – due to the eruption of Iceland’s Mount Eyjafjallajokull – could lead to an increase in temperatures across that continent. From the article:

A study conducted after commercial flights were grounded for three days following the September 11 terror attacks found the average daily temperature range in the U.S. rose markedly - exceeding the three-day periods before and after by 1.8c. (or it could have been all that fuel that caught fire… big fire you know, could have made it warmer- hey it is more plausible than their ridiculous “theory”)
The grounding of flights in 2001 gave scientists a 'tarnished but golden opportunity' to study the impact that jet planes have on the climate. (WEATHER WEATHER WEATHER, and the answer is: imperceptible)
They matched the weather over those three days with similar weather in September over that period, and found that the difference in daily high and nightly low temperatures in the absence of planes' contrails was more than 1c greater. (also in the absence of Unicorns, meteor showers, UFO landings, all manner of things that also have no effect on the temperature)
Scientists claimed this showed that clouds formed by the water vapour in the exhaust from jet planes have a small but significant effect on daily temperatures. (one degree C = 1.8 (+32) degree F, really?  jet contrails impact national temperature daily by two degrees?)
The researchers said that in regions with crowded skies, the clouds formed by the planes' water vapour worked like cirrus clouds to prevent days from getting too hot and trapping the Earth's heat at night.

I thought the carbon emissions produced by jet fuel contributed to global warming? Now I find out that water vapor – a byproduct of jet fuel combustion – helps to moderate the earth's temperature. Do you ever get the feeling that some people want to have it both ways?

First HE had us labeled as domestic terrorists, then he didn’t know we existed, then HE called us teabaggers, then HE acknowledged his destiny to be a one-term president -- and now HE is "amused" by us.
HE is amused by us? We are the reason Arlen Sphincter turned tail and joined his natural-born party when the backlash over his support of Zero’s $787 billion turtle tunnel bill threatened his re-election as a Republican, and we are now the reason Sphincter won’t even come close to winning his seat back against upstart Pat Toomey. We are the reason Scott Brown now sits in a seat formerly occupied for nearly half a century by a fat cretinous murdering drunkard whoring Democrat thief, the reason dirty Creigh Deeds was done in dirt cheap (a saying admittedly stolen from Pat Dollard), the reason New Jersey now has Gov. Chris Christie to rightfully gut it’s bloated government and eventually return power to the taxpayer, the reason sitting RINO Florida Gov. Charlie Crist will have to run as a Democrat-lite (an independent) to even have a chance at winning his battle to become a U.S. senator.
HE is amused by us? We’re the reason it took so long for HIM to get his precious signature – and likely final – achievement accomplished: Obamacare. We are the reason Obama needed to make the Louisiana Purchase and the Cornhusker Kickback and the fake executive order preventing federal abortion funding just to squeak that monstrosity of freedom-grabbing piece of crap through by a Congresscriminal's nose.
HE is amused by us? We’re the reason (so far) that 17 clownish Zombiecrat Congresscriminals and 5 Zombiecrat Senators are retiring. We’re the reason the battle for the Senate on April 15, 2010, looked amazingly red and the current map of the potential November makeup of the House of Representatives that, only 18 months ago was bluer that Babe the Blue Ox’s balls, now looks like Iran nuked the entire friggin’ nation, not that The One would do anything about nuclear attacks, either.
HE is amused by us? We are the reason Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Dickhead, Nevada) will lose in November, even with a third-party candidate running for his seat, why only a few supporters showed up to hear him recently speak in his hometown of Searchlight, where conversely thousands were drawn to hear Sarah Palin speak and where leftists threatened Andrew Breitbart.
HE is amused by us? We are the reason that, one by one, the names on the list in the following image will be sent into retirement, crossed-off to their bearers' humiliation, eradicated from the American political landscape, forever.

HE is amused by us? We are the only thing that can prevent his vision of America’s future, a remade and broken-down shell that is mediocre and timid and lagging behind developing third-world countries in technology and capital and world prestige, our future grandchildren saying these first words:

We are this nation’s future, the purveyors of our government’s original core values of fiscal responsibility and limited government and free-market enterprise, the defenders of the intent of our Founding Fathers and their achievement – the creation of the greatest nation this earth has ever known ... and will ever know. HE is the reason the Founders are turning over in their graves right now, screaming:

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - Call it NASA: The Next (last) Generation. The pResident is pointing America toward a new direction in space (and to those of you wondering, that direction would be DOWN just like everything else) and some heroes from NASA's long-ago glory days don't like it. The new Ares Rocket has been canceled. And the space shuttles are about to be mothballed. Instead,(in a stunning departure from his usual policies) the Obama administration wants to rely more on private companies  to fly into space over the next few years, while also working to develop a big, new government rocket ship.

- So let me get this straight. Obama believes that Government is the solution when it comes to Healthcare.  Obama believes that Government is the solution to Education.  Obama believes that Government is the solution for the banking industry.  Government is the solution to the energy industry.  Government is the solution for the auto industry. Government is the solution for charitable giving and service.  Government is the solution for the Internet.

But Government is not the solution to Space Exploration?

We can waste Government money on Turtle tunnels, Solar Panels, Cash for Clunkers,  Public Transportation, and overly intrusive census taking, and yet…it is not the Government’s job to fund Space Exploration?

Private Companies cannot be trusted with running their businesses for the benefit of shareholders and the public, but is perfectly ok dealing with the MOST TECHNOLOGICLLY ADVANCED SYSTEMS ON THE PLANET, SENDING PEOPLE TO THE MOST HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT THERE IS, AND SOLVING THE MOST COMPLICATED ENGINEERING PROBLEMS THAT EXIST?

The Space Race gave us among other things, Satellite TV and Internet, advanced Medical Imaging, The ear Thermometer, Fire Resistant Fabrics, the Smoke Detector, 3D modeling software, Cordless tools, Invisible orthodontics (thanks to Nasa’s ceramics), JoyStick Controllers, Velcro, and most kinds of plastic…

But Obama sees space exploration as a waste of money.

And honestly…why do we want to be so competitive anyway?  I mean why not let someone else have a chance?  Why do we have to be imperialists of space?  Isn’t It  more FAIR to let India, Iran, Pakistan, China, or someone else have some fun up there…

  For those that don't know about history...... here is a condensed version.
Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.
The two most important events in all of history were:
1. The invention of beer, and
2. The invention of the wheel.

The wheel was invented to get man to the beer.
These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:
1. Liberals
2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.
Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement. Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men.

Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.
Over the years Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.
Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.
Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.
Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Hey, it is as plausible as some of the crap I have read recently on Liberal Blogs.

FDA Will Require Health Labels on Front of Food Packages

Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Kathleen Sebelius said today that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is developing a new regulation that would require food manufacturers to display nutritional information on the front of packages.  “Busy shoppers will be able to go into grocery stores and have some easy to understand information on the front of packages giving them quick data on what is a healthier choice,” said Sebelius at the U.S. Capitol. “The Food and Drug Administration right now is working with food manufacturers to not only update the nutritional labeling on the back of packages, which right now is written in small bar codes and pretty indecipherable and hasn’t been updated in 20 years, but to move to a front-of-package labeling strategy,” said Sebelius.

ARGH Rarwrrrr!  this is so stupid.  First of all, our State Educated children are too  illiterate to read the stuff on the labels anyway. Secondly, I am reminded of the Dennis Leary rant on warning labels on cigarettes.  You can make the WHOLE Twinkie box the warning label. You can rename Twinkies FAT ASSSES and we will STILL EAT THEM.  We like them, they taste good.   Damned hypocrites, but maybe that is the problem with Ms. Sebelius’ husband: he can’t read the labels.  He looks about as hefty as me.

So now the G-D Nutritional Information is going to be on the front and the back and they are going to dumb it down.  What next?   A picture of Obama with a thumbs up so we know what to eat?  Dear leader Obama says “big thumbs down” on steak?  Isn’t this one of the twelve rules of animal farm? Jaysus, Mary, and the Shepherds what else can the idiots in Washington dream up to waste money on while at the same time ruining profits for those who produce wealth in this nation?

GOP Official & Boyfriend Savagely Beaten For Wearing Palin Pins – Including Broken Leg, Jaw, Concussion… Media Silent

A Republican activist and her boyfriend were savagely beaten in New Orleans on Friday for wearing Sarah Palin pins. The beating resulted in a broken leg for Bautch’s and her boyrfiend Mr. Brown incurred a broken jaw and nose as well as a concussion. Ms. Bautsch is the chief campaign fundraiser for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. The savage beating occurred Friday night in New Orleans after leaving a Republican party fundraising dinner. The perpetrators are allegedly a group of thugs who reportedly targeted the couple because they were wearing Sarah Palin pins.   No word as of yet if the gang has ties to the purple people beaters (SEIU or Acorn)

This story  has yet to make national headlines, unlike say, unfounded rumors of nasty words being said and mucus being ejected onto certain liberal members of congress by Tea Party protesters.

I want to know where Nasty Botoxi’s big crocodile tears are for this heinous display of violence by opponents of the minority party.

Liberal Myths and History: Emancipation Proclamation

   We are fighting a narrative.  The narrative is not some concrete list or document.  These people do not have to have meetings.  There are no official decoder rings.  The narrative is set in motion by those in the media and those in power.  They all come from the same schools, work in the same industries, move in the same circle, and share the same worldview.  The narrative is based on several foundational beliefs, which are generally untrue. Sometimes the narrative is subtle, sometimes it is not.  We have all felt the narrative’s presence, we have all spoken about it, but the first time I discovered that someone called it what it was and gave it a real name was in a novel I read by Stephen Hunter.  I recommend all of his books, strictly great entertainment, but in this case he hit upon a very significant sociological/cultural truth: There is no vast conspiracy of the left, it is just a set of beliefs that grew out of a framework constructed, primarily in our schools by leftists and communist sympathizers. Our history has largely been subverted and suborned for political gain.

So here is my attempt to fight the narrative one myth, lie, and misrepresentation at a time.

The narrative:  Abraham Lincoln Freed the Slaves with the Emancipation Proclamation ending the South’s Policy of Slavery. North=Good/South=Bad.

Caveat: I, in no way, shape, or form think slavery was anything other than an abomination.  it was a shameful practice.  I am a Pro-Liberty/ Pro-Freedom kind of guy.  The thought of anyone owning another person is anathema to me.  This is why I rail so hard against the involuntary servitude to the Federal Government.  This is why I speak so loudly against people selling themselves into slavery with government ‘entitlements’.

Facts:

The graphic below depicts the states that had slaves and the states that did not as of 1860.  DE, MD, DC, VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, TN, KY, MO, AR, LA, and TX were states that allowed slavery.  Notice that Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC are included.

The map below depicts the Union and the Confederates States, as well as the Slave States that stayed in the Union after the start of the war.  Virginia split into Virginia  and West Virginia.  But notice that West Virginia, although a Union state, was still a Slave State, along with DE, MD, KY, MO, and Washington DC. Slaves in the District of Columbia were not freed until April 16, 1862; well after the start of the war,  and their owners were compensated for their loss by the Federal Government.

So what about the Emancipation Proclamation? 

The Emancipation Proclamation is not one document, it is actually two executive orders. The first one, issued September 22, 1862, declared the freedom of all slaves in any state of the Confederate States of America that did not return to Union control by January 1, 1863. Had any slave state ended its secession attempt before January 1, 1863, it could have kept slavery, at least temporarily. The Proclamation only gave Lincoln the legal basis to free the slaves in the areas of the South that were still in rebellion.

That is Interesting, isn’t it?  If they had rejoined the union they could have kept their slaves. Seems like this might not have been the altruistic move we were lead to believe.  Seems like slavery might have been used as leverage.

These orders were a (mostly) political move on the part of Lincoln similar to a diplomatic sanction, or trade embargo that we use today to force our political will on other nations.   The second order, issued January 1, 1863, named ten specific states where slaves would be freed. Although implicitly granted authority to do so by Congress, Lincoln used his powers as Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy, "as a necessary war measure" as the basis of the proclamation, rather than the equivalent of a statute enacted by Congress or a constitutional amendment.

Why?

Because, Lincoln had previously declared in peacetime that he had no constitutional authority to free the slaves. Even used as a war power, emancipation was a risky political act. Public opinion as a whole was against it, and it was a controversial decision even in the North.  Secretary of State William H. Seward commented,

"We show our sympathy with slavery by emancipating slaves where we cannot reach them and holding them in bondage where we can set them free."

It is very important to note that while the Proclamation had freed most slaves as a war measure, it had not made slavery illegal. Several former slave states had already passed legislation prohibiting slavery; however, in a few states, slavery continued to be legal, and to exist, until December 18, 1865, when the Thirteenth Amendment was enacted.

  It is not likely that Stern is going to be given a MORE high profile position. The reason he is probably moving/changing is because he has been shown to be too HIGH profile already. These people do their work in the weeds under the cover of darkness, A la Van Jones.  They cannot stand the sunlight. He has been caught out in the sun and widely reported as being the most frequent visitor to Chairman Zero's throne room. He is just going to go back underground. He may be moved to a liberal policy think thank, or may be called back to the mother ship at the Soros Foundation, or create a new evil organization.  That is what they do. Old Hippie Rabble Rousers never die they just create new organizations and rebrand themselves. That is what they have done since the sixties.

Viral of the day: The death of a prominent New Orleans "entrepreneur" (rated PG)

I hope you folks enjoy this. Some people may call me racist for posting this. However, gang violence and associated drug addiction almost always follow such people around. Is it worth having though, and I thought it would be worth sharing. ONLY IN AMERICA FOLKS!!!!!! It seems like every couple of days New Orleans loses one of its treasured entrepreneurs. He was likely a "Street Pharmacist" or a Candy Distributor). Street pharmacists" and "candy salesmen" are key job (and habit) producers in Nw Orleans. These people are the only source of hope (and dope) for the city and we must call a halt to this unfortunate trend if we ever expect to see a vibrant city again. Entrepreneur????? It took me a couple of minutes to get it, but imagine, NINE welfare recipients (9 kids – and he’s 25 years old) collecting $1500 each.....that equals $13,500 a month !!! Now add food stamps, free medical, free school lunches, on and on and on. Now that to me is a real Entrepreneur (also known as a "street pharmacist" or a "candy distributor".) Such street pharmacists/candy distributors are key in job (and habit) formation for the City of New Orleans. Makes one proud to be a Communist...or want to kill one.

Viral of the Day: The 28th Amendment

Usually this Viral of the Day thing is AD33’s gig,  sometimes I like them, sometimes I am indifferent.  But this one, this one is something that we need to DO.

For too long we have  been too complacent about the workings of Congress.  Many citizens had no  idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one  term, that they didn't pay into Social Security, that they specifically  exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being  exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary  citizens must live under those laws.  The latest is to exempt themselves  from the Healthcare Reform that is being considered...in all of its forms.   Somehow, that doesn't seem logical.  We do not have an elite that  is above the law.  I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican,  Independent or whatever.  The self-serving must stop.  This is a  good way to do that.  It is an idea whose time has  come.

Have each person contact  a minimum of Twenty people on their Address list, in turn ask each of  those to do likewise. 

In three days, most  people in The United States of America will have the message.  This is  one proposal that really should be passed around.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States  Constitution

"Congress shall make no  law that applies to   the citizens of the United States that does not apply  equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no  law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply  equally to the citizens of the United States ."

My only change would be:  Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the “elected representatives and their staff members, appointees, or agents”… 

Unfortunately this seemed so simple to the Founders that they would have never thought that this was necessary, of course this should is already covered if we only applied the constitution properly.  We are guaranteed equality under the law, the CongressCritters in the District of Criminals just make laws were we are treated Unequally under the law.

-The health care debate seems to have taken a serious toll on Claire McCaskill's approval ratings. 38% of voters in the state say they like the job she's doing while 51% disapprove. The key finding- 85% of folks who oppose the health care bill passed last week disapprove of McCaskill. That's an indication that feelings about the bill and feelings about McCaskill have become practically one and the same.

Boy, that is sad news. 

Repeat after me Claire: “Welcome to McDonald’s can I take your order?”; or maybe you prefer “Attention Wal-Mart shoppers…”

Look, Claire Baire, I have been telling you for nearly a year now that you were going  to get hosed if you kept up with the Obama puppy love googley eyes thing; and  Nasty Botoxi is not going to share any of her stash with you nor will she let you ride her broom.  Harry Reid doesn’t know which way is up, and forgets what his vote is supposed to be. You are not keeping very good company. 

Do the right thing for the first time in a long time… stop being a lapdog.  Otherwise it is just like we have been trying to tell you…you will be fired.
