Western Hero on Glenn Beck’s Rally

Glenn Beck's Rally by Western Hero

It is a sad commentary on our public education system when a media personality has caused more people to read The US Constitution and the writings of the founders than has all of the primary and secondary teachers combined
I don't get a chance to see Glenn Beck's TV show, and I only catch snippets of his radio show on the way home from work, but I admire him.  I admire him for pulling himself out of a self-made gutter of materialism and alcoholism.  Not only did he come back from the brink, he leveraged his talents to become a multi-millionaire who stands atop a multimedia empire.
I admire his ability to educate with humor.  What other media personality could hold an audience larger than all of MSNBC and CNN combined while talking about Woodrow Wilson, early 20th Century Progressivism, and the most obscure founding fathers?  Beck is a life-long learner, an everyman delving into history and philosophy.  He is an example for all of us.
I didn't watch the rally, but I did wade into the poisonous stream of vile liberal invective that reached its high-water mark sometime after the rally.  I won't even honor any of it by echoing the lefty lunacy.
We are no longer a nation of laws

A liberal defending big government and bashing Beck maintained noisily that we are a nation of laws.  I responded that actually, no, we are not a nation of laws. At least not anymore.  When our government passes laws that favor certain groups (sugar farmers, for instance), and creates literally tons of laws per year that they themselves admit they have not read, and when they selectively enforce others, or refuse to enforce them (immigration), then they have made a mockery of the very concept of the rule of law.
We are a decadent nation ruled by the capricious whims of a political oligarchy grown fat upon corporate contributions. But that's OK with the left as long as the oligarchy favors them and their causes. That is what separates left from right today, and it will be the death of progressive democrats:  The right has turned a critical eye upon it's own politicians while the left childishly refuses to do the same.

...And I love how Glenn sends the left into bug-eyed apoplexy on a daily basis.  It's fun to watch.
Here's what I think about the rally, which drew "hundreds of thousands" according to McClatchy News Service:
We need government, and we need it to perform its constitutional duties efficiently and effectively.  We must also never lose our self-sufficiency. Katrina was a tragedy. People just sitting there as a hurricane hits them while school buses sit underwater.  Did government benumb them into inaction?
Government has its place, but so does freedom and liberty of each person to rule their own lives and make their own decisions.

Washington, We have an Imbalance

We have an imbalance between personal liberty and government power. That is what Glen Beck is (comically? cynically? self-servingly? genuinely? sincerely?) pointing to.
Too many look to government for too much. Meanwhile, over-reliance on government has caused our self-sufficiency to atrophy, like a muscle that goes unused.
It's about damning the DC-NY crony capitalist connection. It's a shout out to the politicians that the times they are a changin' (Apologies to Bob Dylan). We don't believe their crap anymore.
Statism is so Yesterday...
Have the republicans screwed us over? Of course they have. So have the democrats, who are just as deep in the crony capitalist sewer as the GOP.
Our nation is too big and too diverse for outmoded one-size-fits-all solutions.  We don't want to destroy the federal government, we want to restrict it to its constitutional duties so neither left nor right can hijack its coercive power for their own narrow financial and political interests.
The only solution is to take it away from Washington and hand it back to the states and the people. If we screw it up there, then it's our own damned fault

The Massive Compromise of 2011 We Need

By Telemachus

This post is simply fantastic, I have shortened it slightly, to read this excellent post and many others check out his blog...Telemachus

"But with respect to future debt; would it not be wise and just for that nation to declare in the constitution they are forming that neither the legislature, nor the nation itself can validly contract more debt, than they may pay within their own age, or within the term of 19 years?"  -Thomas Jefferson, September 6, 1789

Maybe we should listen to Mr. Jefferson, don't you think?
Don’t read this post if you are not completely serious about reducing these gargantuan federal budget deficits and the national debt for us and our children before they do irreparable harm to our economy and nation.
Don't read this if you still believe that Santa Claus drops presents down the chimney at Christmastime; the Easter Bunny really lays Easter eggs or that we can: A) cut taxes a lot more AND B) not reduce spending or make major reforms to our entitlement programs and come out of this all right.
And please don’t read this if you think we can just spend whatever we want whenever we want without incurring some big-time consequences down the road as a nation.
Now that we have winnowed the audience down to perhaps a handful of responsible adults out there, let’s think honestly and openly about how we can get this thing solved once and for all.  Then we can all go on about the rest of our lives without ever hearing anyone talk about the ‘federal budget deficit’ again. (Lord! Let It Be So!)
Just one final reminder of just how seriously incompetent we have been as a nation over the past 30 years:
We are the very first generation of American citizens (‘We’re #1!’ ‘We’re #1!) who have rung up such an enormous debt without fighting a major war to:  gain our  independence (1776-1781); keep our nation intact (1861-1865) or save the world from megalomaniacal madmen like Hitler (1941-45).
Even during the Great Depression, we ‘only’ ran up the national debt to 35% of a crashing GDP.  We are now have a debt load at 80%+ of GDP…and still growing .
Here are some over-arching principles we would like to see going forward:

  1. Let’s take corrective actions today in one fell swoop and correct our fiscal imbalances…before the Chinese and Japanese stop buying our debt and force us to make these same decisions we need to make on our own without any foreign country dictating to us what to do.
  2. Let’s set a course of fiscal sanity that will last us not through the end of the next fiscal year, but through the whole century so our kids and grandkids can get a chance to ‘secure the blessings of liberty’ as promised to them in the Constitution.
  3. Let’s adopt an attitude that the federal government should be limited in scope and allow state and local governments to fund and administer programs tailored to their specific needs.
  4. Let’s return to the concept that federal assistance, in any form or manner, should be reserved to very narrow dictates of providing for the common defense; providing for some semblance of the common welfare for the nation as a whole, and helping to provide for people who really can not provide for their own selves or families for whatever physical, mental or sociological reason there might be.
  5. People who have the means and wherewithal to provide for themselves will not be included in any federal entitlement program going forward.  The Founders never envisioned billionaires such as Warren Buffett or Bill Gates drawing a ‘measly’ $3000/month from Social Security or being subsidized to the tune of $12-15,000 per year for ‘mandatory’ Medicare Part B coverage like the average senior.
  6. Use the tax code to raise funds solely for the purpose of paying for federal programs we approve of and have in law, not to punish or advantage any one group of people versus another.

Actions to Take:
  1. Establish a target of 19% of GDP for federal tax receipt in total (since that is what is has been close to for the past 30 years anyway)
  2. Delay the expiration of the Bush tax cuts under current law for one year.  (Obama is going to veto any complete repeal of these tax cut expirations anyway so why not use it in some form of a deal?)
  3. Raise the eligibility age of SS and Medicare to 70 in 3-month increments starting in 2011. We could have SS at 70 by 2023 and Medicare at the same threshold by 2026. (if you don't let the Bush Tax Cuts expire, you might as well advocate raising both threshold ages to 80 tomorrow morning because you would have $3 Trillion more to cut in spending over the next decade)
  4. Transition to a consumption tax to replace, not augment, the current failed income/corporate/payroll/estate and excise tax system starting in 2016. (no income tax/no tax loopholes or deductions to protect.  Pay taxes on what you buy and consume/No hindrance to saving and investing)
  5. Restore PAYGO; entitlement spending increases have to be offset by entitlement spending decreases elsewhere or tax hikes somewhere; tax cuts have to be offset by entitlement spending cuts and discretionary cuts for the duration of the tax cuts and their effect on baseline projections; discretionary spending hikes have to be offset by discretionary spending cuts elsewhere.
  6. Establish a hard cap on all discretionary spending, including defense and homeland security, for the next 5 years almost as if a CR (continuing resolution) were passed at the end of each fiscal year to keep funding at the previous year's levels.
  7. Get Congress take one 2-year session to analyze and evaluate every single federal program and decide which are working and which are not.  And then produce a bill to eliminate all programs that are not working and fund the ones that are working at their minimum effective level.
  8. Pass a balanced budget amendment (with war/economic hardship exceptions) to the Constitution as Mr. Jefferson suggests above.
We don't like higher taxes any more than you do.  But we fear continued accumulation of  humongous and dangerous levels of national debt much more.  Particularly when the real danger is compounding interest payments on the national debt when we know that the only direction for interest rates to go is 'up' from their near-zero levels of today.  We are now spending close to 12% of our budget on net interest, or $400 billion in FY 2010.
What happens 'when', not 'if', interest rates go to 5%, 7%, or 10%+?  We will be looking at net interest payments of over $1 trillion...per year...forever.
Here's what we know about taxes: they can be raised or lowered by the legislative process in a new Congress every two years.  So if they go up as a result of the Bush tax cuts expiring, they can be reduced one day when the deficits look like they are under control again.
But paying ever-escalating amounts of interest payments on a continually expanding debt can not be changed by legislative fiat.  Once interest payments hit the 'tipping point' of out-running a nation's (or a business or an individual for that matter) ability to make the debt service payments, 'that is all she wrote'  if you look at history even in a passing manner.
And we think that is a devastating possibility no one wants to even come close to messing with.
We didn't say this 'Compromise' was going to be 'easy' or 'a marginal step' or 'an iteration'; we said it was going to be 'massive' and it is.  But it would have the greatest chance of returning our federal budget to balance in the shortest amount of time and prevent our children from desecrating our tombstones after we slip these mortal coils of earth.
Because if we don't do this, they will...and it will be deserved.

Point/Counterpoint: The Good News and the Bad News

Managed Services Good News Bad NewsThis is expanding on Opus6’s Post on MaInfo why she isn’t dancing in the streets…

via Proof Positive,War Planner,Left Coast Rebel, MaInfo, and one of my new favorite’s Kristin’s Mishmash

The good news is…

By the War Planner

#1… the Democrat-socialists have dropped the holy grail of their neo-Bolshevik agenda and nobody's talking. It's called cap and trade and it's gone the way of the dodo, at least for now (Politico via Memeorandum):

“Senate Democrats pulled the plug on climate legislation Thursday, pushing the issue off into an uncertain future ahead of midterm elections where President Barack Obama’s party is girding for a drubbing.

Rather than a long-awaited measure capping greenhouse gases — or even a more limited bill directed only at electric utilities — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will move forward next week on a bipartisan energy-only bill that responds to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and contains other more popular energy items.”

So seriously, conservatives, libertarians and indies - you should be popping a cork on this news today, instead of chasing Sherrod-barbecuing-pomeranian-rumors.

#2 - One of the biggest Democrat-socialist crooks finally got his comeuppance (or proverbial slap on the wrist), either way NYT, also via. Memeorandum:

WASHINGTON — After a nearly two-year investigation, a House investigative panel has found that Representative Charles B. Rangel probably violated a range of ethics rules, dealing a serious blow to Mr. Rangel, a Harlem Democrat, in the twilight of his political career.
The investigative subcommitee did not disclose any details about the nature of the violations that it found evidence, but one House official who has been briefed on the findings said that they included some of the most serious allegations that had been examined.

And once again, seriously - conservatives, libertarians, indies and anyone that relaxinrangelcares about honesty, transparency, ethics, trustworthiness and otherwise, (not to mention adherence to limited government and the Constitution) should be popping the cork on a top-shelf bottle of something tonight.  Only in the Congress of the United States of America would it take 2 years to prove this:

Now for the Bad News, and why we aren’t dancing in the streets…

From Kristin's Mishmash: Dictator of the People's Republic of America,

What makes me think we are in big trouble?
The Health Care Law--
This thing took over 1/6 of our economy. We still don't know everything that is in it, but the more we see, the worse it gets.
How about Sec. 9006 which will require small businesses to submit 1099 forms for the purchase of any good or service over $600? And they claim to wonder why there are no jobs. This addition to the tax code may affect your ability to buy gold. FDR took all the gold in 1933; this regime is nudging you away from it.
Financial Reform--
The wannabe dictator signed this one yesterday at the Ronald Reagan Building. Nice thumb-in-the-eye there, Barack.
Check out my previous posts on the topic. Chris Dodd said of the bill, "It took a crisis to bring us to the point where we could actually get this job done." and "No one will know until this is actually in place how it works."
National Popular Vote--
The folks over at NationalPopularVote.com sure want me to shut up about this. The organization's leaders have said, “When people complain that it’s an end run,” Dr. Koza said, “I just tell them, ‘Hey, an end run is a legal play in football.’ ’’ and "Barry Fadem, the campaign's president, believes the 20-25 states needed to control the Electoral College will adopt the compact before the 2012 election."
Internet Kill Switch--
The left already owns the media. Those of us who want to learn the real truth have to find it ourselves. Where do we look? The internet and Fox News. They are well on their way to giving the president the power to kill the internet for as long as six months!
Presidential Assassination Program--
The regime is defending their right to kill citizens off the battlefield for being suspected terrorists. What?
Attacks on Private Business--
From the auto industry to the oil industry to the fishing industry. American businesses are under attack. Despite Nancy Pelosi's views on unemployment benefits, there are no benefits if there are no employed people left to pay taxes. God help us when they get a climate bill passed!
DISCLOSE Act--
Sounds benign doesn't it? This cancerous bill is an assault on the 1st Amendment and will basically ensure that only unions will be able to contribute to campaigns. Even the NRA sold out on this one.
Immigration Reform--
If you were trying to push the government over the brink while buying yourself more voters, what better way than to stop enforcing the border and grant millions of illegals amnesty. This regime is going so far as to sue Arizona for trying to enforce the law and protect the border.
Infringe on the 2nd Amendment--
Obviously some of these things are going to tick off the populace, so better make sure that the little people are not able to defend themselves from tyranny. The 2nd amendment was upheld by a slim 5-4 margin this year. If you can't go through the Constitution, go around it with treaties and international law.
Stack the Courts--
Sotomayor, Kagan. Enough said.
Folks, this is after only 18 months and I am sure I am forgetting stuff that should be here (like the Wannabe ordering BP to pay). We have a lame duck congress we are going to have to contend with soon, and with an 11% approval rating, they ain't got nothin' to lose. I can only pray that most of this can be undone and undone before it is too late for the Republic.

I will take the good news, but there is still too much bad news for celebration just yet

Awesome Analysis of the Obamanation

Awesome Analysis of the Obamanation by the Left Coast Rebel
I was just over at ProofPositive and caught a post by Andrew Roman (guesting for the Proof) that absolutely hit the ball out of the park.
Well written, concise and absolutely correct. Andrew writes:

Barack Hussein Obama is a dulcet-toned sponge swollen with leftist rhetoric, knee-jerk anti-capitalist blather, and university-cultivated hyperbole. He is a man who hasn’t a clue about much of anything beyond the campus brain-clutter that keeps his political base (somewhat) satisfied and his teleprompter in business.

He is a polished appetizer-platter of meaningless Vietnam-era clichés. He is a messiah in a world contrived in his mind that neither asked for him nor needs him.

His responses to critical questions reveal a man who is in over his head - a man spinning his wheels in campaign-mode mud - without the ability to be particularly thoughtful or substantive.

He is a man who has contempt for liberty and rugged individualism.

He almost always sounds foolish.

And America continues to pay the price.

No, dear friends, he isn't brilliant.

Rather, he's ignorant and way out of his league.

That felt good reading that again. Andrew says it better than perhaps I even could, perhaps as well in conflict to Charles Krauthammer's piece today in the Washington Post.

Exit question - why do many among us take the bait that the Obamanation is so brilliant? Like Andrew, I highly disagree

Left Coast Rebel: Awesome Analysis of the Obamanation

-KOOK says:  while I totally agree with this assessment of the man, and I mean to the point that I feel this should be on Obama’s wiki page…and in textbooks for its accuracy and exactness of connotation; Obama is the product of a Machine and a Method.  This Machine & Method has been working towards this 4 years for a long, long, time…the Machine and the Method put him where he is; he is just the figurehead.  He is a true believing ideologue of the progressive academian 60’s hippie radical race baiting capitalist hating machine.  They could put any smooth talking, decent looking (or so I am told), teleprompter reader in his spot.  He is the Berkeley-Churian candidate.

Jack Goodman: Candidate for Congress Missouri's 7th Congressional District

Via BBCW: March 2010

[Snip]One of the challenges for Goodman as a candidate in the Seventh District race is the fact he is one of two men considered to be a politician in a year when anger is directed at the politicians. When I met Mr. Goodman for lunch today and an interview, he comes across as more of a citizen legislator than career politician.

Goodman points out he has always fought for the people of his district. He took on the House speaker over unfair zoning laws. He believes Southwest Missouri needs to look at his experience as a positive and proof he will fight for the the vision our founding fathers established in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. …read the rest of the BBCW post here

So let’s look at Goodman on the issues…and compare them to My Positions

LifeThumb

Jack is pro-life. He strongly believes in protecting life at all stages, especially those who cannot defend themselves…

Federal Budget

Federal spending is out of control…. Jack’s record proves he believes in and will vote for limited government and lower taxes.Thumb

Spending our way out of this current economic situation is not feasible…Jack … believes conservatives must pursue a definite course and not simply be just a little less liberal than the liberals.

Earmarks

Jack believes the federal appropriation process is terribly broken and must be reformed. Not only does the process lack the accountability and Thumbtransparency the American people deserve, it promotes the vulgar spending of taxpayer money that his given Washington its lousy reputation. Jack proposes a moratorium on earmarks and will call on ALL members of congress and candidates to do the same until real reform can be implemented in the system. [sounds nice…won’t ever happen, this is all a little pie in the sky, but ideologically sound in pricinple]

Second Amendment

Jack is a strong supporter of the Constitution, including the 2nd Amendment. Jack was instrumental in helping to pass Missouri’s concealed carry law. He also wrote and sponsored Missouri’s version of the Castle Doctrine, which Thumballows homeowners to fully protect themselves against unlawful intruders. Jack is a proud member of the NRA with an A+ rating. Jack believes there should be no further encroachment on our right to keep and bear arms.

National Security

Unfortunately, we live in a dangerous world. We cannot make friends with those who have sworn to kill us. Jack will fight to provide all necessary Thumbresources to the men and women of our armed forces who lay their lives on the line everyday to protect the American way of life against terrorists and other threats. [No real position given on the wars]

Securing the Border and Immigration

There are many good people around the world who would like to enter our country legally and follow our rules. Jack welcomes all people who want to legally, productively become a part of the greatness of America. Thumb
Those who enter the country illegally should not be rewarded for breaking the law. Jack is opposed to amnesty. He will fight for additional funding for border security and training for border patrol agents.

Energy Independence

Energy policy is a national priority. …Congress must open up domestic Thumbsupplies of energy to exploration and encourage next generation coal, nuclear, wind, hydroelectric power and other energy sources if we are to reduce dependence on foreign oil. .

Healthcare

Jack believes there is a general consensus on the principles that Americans are looking for in any health care reform proposal: affordability, Thumbaccessibility, choice, and quality. He strongly believes that putting individuals, families, and doctors, not the government, in control of the healthcare system is the key to success.

EducationThumb

Jack supports returning control of our children's education to those who understand their needs the best - parents and our local educators. Family Values

Seems like he talks the talk.  Curious to see what else we learn about him.

MO-7 Candidate Michael Wardell Issues Press Release

Michael Wardell

Congressional Candidate Michael Wardell running for Missouri's Seventh District Congressional Seat that Roy Blunt currently holds issued the following statement:

“Over the past several days, a report has surfaced that has shaken the very foundation of our District, our Liberty, and our Party and has embarrassed my fellow Conservatives. A candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives should be an example of leadership, Integrity and Character for the community regardless of party affiliation.

We Republicans have railed against the Democrats for their backroom deals, Louisiana Purchases and Nebraska buyouts, and yet one of our own who professes to be the citizen that should go to Washington D.C. believes that those rules only apply to others.

According to blogger Bungalow Bill, who writes Bungalow Bill’s Conservative Wisdom and Billy Long is Wrong, on Tuesday the 2nd of March, Mr. Long attempted to stifle free speech, and buy the bloggers silence. The two met for coffee and the rest, they say, is history.

This is not the kind of representation we need in the 7th Congressional district, and if confirmed Mr. Long should step down from the race. If Mr. Long is able to weather this lapse in ethical behavior and make it to the general election, his opponent will charge in with bayonets fixed and firing, and the seat could be lost.  I’m not willing to accept that.”

Billy Long is Wrong

Billy Long is Wrong: With Regret: Discovering the Ugly Side of Politics on a Personal LevelBilly Long is Wrong Below is a repost from our good friend Clay’s, the purveyor of BBCW, other website covering Billy Long.  Billy Long is a candidate in the Mo-7 race for Roy Blunt’s soon to be vacated seat. This race is shaping up to be HOTLY contested.  Billy Long has been a front runner in the race…up until this latest shenanigan (hopefully).  Billy Long is a wealthy businessman who plays the “Aw Shucks good ol’ boy” but  he appears to be as “crooked as a sidewinder”   Or  “Crooked as a Dog’s Hind Leg”…or for those of our readers not from the south that would be… “unethical”.

Clay was feeling sort of mean spirited because of his pretty astringent coverage of Billy Long Bad for Missouri Billy Long’s campaign so far, he was just about to extend an olive branch…when BLAM! all of Clay’s suspicions and suppositions turn out to be SPOT ON regarding the W.I.Q., that would be Weasel In Question, Billy Long; who has aspirations of joining all the other “ethically challenged” Weasels in the District of Criminals.

The fact is, Billy Long proved he is WRONG for the position of representing us. Billy Long is Wrong For Missouri.  Billy Long proved he is unethical.  Read the post below and you will understand why; the days where you can Bribe, Blackmail, Extort, and generally Payola your way to office are OVER if we of the Pro-Liberty Coalition have anything to say about it…

Billy Long Is Unethical In case your were wondering I repeated Billy Long’s name several times in this post to get the Search Engines to crawl this hot breaking Billy Long News faster about how Billy Long is Wrong for Missouri, and how Billy Long is Unethical, and How Billy Long has no business in Washington. I also want to mention that if things work out I will be in Ozark tomorrow night and will hopefully be able to report how Billy Long is a Weasel, Billy Long, Billy Long, Billy Long…

With Regret: Discovering the Ugly Side of Politics on a Personal Level

When I decided to challenge Billy Long’s candidacy for Congress, I hoped that I could encourage the debate of the important issues that face our country and our lives with a focus on the preservation of our Constitution. I saw the massive amounts of money Mr. Long was collecting and feared money would be the deciding factor in this election. As someone concerned for the future of our great Republic, I hoped for better.
This is the reason I decided to challenge Mr. Long. Even if he won the primary, I knew Southwest Missouri would be better off because of the push for a real debate to bring out the best candidate. I never intended this to be a witch hunt. I have spent many hours listening to what Billy Long was saying, and I grew more concerned over his candidacy.
It should be no surprise the Web site ‘LongisWrong.com” was having an impact in the way his campaign was run and possibly the shaping of the race in August. It was my wish to bring about an issues focused campaign that looked beyond the free t-shirts and bumper stickers at the meet-and-greets and the high tech billboards along Southwest Missouri roadways with Mr. Long’s campaign colors. With lots of regret, we may never dive into this seventh district race with a push for the real issues to be addressed.
After seeking counsel through friends, family, religious leaders, and journalists, and considering all the factors that may affect the lives of many people, I have decided to come forward in hopes that my actions will return ethics to Southwest Missouri politics and possibly politics in Washington as well.
I attended the Joplin Federated Republican Women’s meeting on March 2, 2010 at Pizza by Stout. The featured speakers of the event were candidates running for Missouri’s Seventh Congressional District seat now filled by Roy Blunt. After the meeting was over, Billy Long quickly approached me and asked me if I would be willing to sit down and discuss his campaign and my views of his candidacy over a cup of coffee.
While I will leave most of the details of the conversation off the record for now, I was surprised and disgusted by what took place towards the end of our conversation. My wife had just joined us after leaving the meeting room and sat down at our table, and I continued my conversation with Mr. Long listening to him react to the Long is Wrong Web site. I had raised some Constitutional concerns in our conversation about his candidacy, and I had pointed out a few of the great American tales that drive my passion for the Constitution. Mr. Long tells me he is impressed with my knowledge and that I would make a good addition to his own campaign. He asks me to consider it. He then tells me that if I stop doing what I am doing, referring to the Long is Wrong Web site, that I could have a position in his campaign.
I cut the conversation short after this, and as we got up to leave the table, Mr. Long once again invited me over, this time using a Star Wars reference asking me to join the ‘dark side’ (sic).
It is with great sadness that I discuss this today. All I hoped for was to raise the debate in Southwest Missouri to a higher level that directed our country in the right Constitutional direction. Instead, I am having the deal with what I feel is a bribe, to get me to remove the Long is Wrong Web site. This is not what I wanted to bring about in the seventh district. In fact, I have a heavy heart even discussing this as I was exposed to the dirty truth of politics in America today on a personal level by a man who claims a vote for him is a vote to send a citizen to Washington.
I wish I had never sat down and had coffee with him. I hate the position he has put me in, and I hate how this feels inside.

Billy Long is Wrong

Keep your chin up, Clay

NO Billy Long For Congress

While we slept by Feed your ADHD

I am reposting this because I could not express what I am feeling any better. Dr. Dave, aka Snarky Basterd, already did the work for us.
Feed Your ADHD: while we F****** slept.

While we slept this morning, the real mobsters, the ones dishing out and accepting bribes in the District of Criminals, completely fucked our country along straight party lines (60-39) … with the first vote on Christmas Eve in more than a century.
Atlas just shrugged.
And the funny thing is, we didn’t sleep. We marched on our capitol buildings during the spring, leading up to TEA Party day on April 15. We screamed during townhall meetings and at local Congressional and Senate offices all summer long. We marched on Washington a million-plus strong in September. We stormed Congressional offices in the fall. We added more than a million signatures to a petition to Congress to stop this madness. We phoned and we blogged and we emailed and we snail mailed and we faxed and we twittered and we bled patriotism, pleading with them:
STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING AND USE YOUR LAST BRAIN CELL TO COME TO YOUR SENSES.
And they didn’t hear a fucking thing.
I don’t know how much more awake we could have been. I don’t know how much louder we could have screamed. I don’t know how many more ways we could have made our opposition known.
In the end, it didn’t matter. They think they know better than us. And now it’s done.
And that’s fine. Let them have their perceived notion of power. Let them slink back home for Christmas and get drunk on the stinking fumes of their “victory.” Let them dance wildly in the shimmery mirage of the “history” they’ve made.
Because now the real fight begins. The fight for November 2010 and 2012 and every forthcoming election thereafter. The fight to send these fuckers back to their homes, tattered and broken, never to be heard from again.
Be bloody angry. Let it burn in you. Let it harden your resolve. Use it to carry on and maintain your focus. Keep it close and keep it ready for when you need it, for when it will be your time to have your voice truly heard.
Get out your checkbooks and give to the organizations that will try to stop this un-Constitutional legislation in the courts. Beat the bushes and find real conservative candidates who are truly willing to honor the Constitution and write them checks and speak out on their behalf.
Then, when the time comes, scream so loudly with your finger in the voting booth that the Socialists will be shocked when the 7 p.m. newscasts declare them extinct.
We’re coming for you, fatcats. Enjoy your good times. Your days of thievery are done. Forever.

Claire McCaskill, the second worst Senator alive today, is stirring rebellion in Missouri.

Across the state, images of Claire Bear as The Joker are popping up…caused by Missourians angry at her refusal to stop the government rationing of healthcare through Harry Reid’s dead of night, top secret, forced legislation.

Every single Democrat voting for this monstrous bill is a Joker.

This is not how legislation should be passed.  This is not the American way.  This is how the Soviet Union and banana republics operated.

McCaskill is not up for re-election until 2012, but we hope Missouri does not forget what she has done by then.  (we must never Forget)

We are all Batman today…and need to work hard to put McCaskill and her band of thugs out of business in 2010, 2012, and 2014…until every last one of The Gang of 60 is defeated.

Every. Last. One. Of. Them.

********

UPDATE:  Some of you wonder why Claire McCaskill is now just the Second-Worst Living Senator.  Previously, she has been listed as the Worst Living Senator in our book.  Harry Reid, in our opinion, nudged her out of her title a few weeks back when he started calling opponents of Healthcare Rationing RAAACISTS, and said that opposing what he was doing with this secret, middle of the night legislation was tantamount to supporting slavery.  That is so wrong, so inappropriate, and so patently INSANE that we couldn’t help but list him as the Worst of the Worst.  McCaskill will, no doubt, regain her title in November 2010 when Reid is booted from office…and she will retain that title until she, too, is removed from the Senate in 2012.

The Rational Jingo: COP15 Morons On Parade

Ditto…Just Ditto…

COP15 Morons On Parade

I am seeing pictures and hearing reports coming out of the Global Tyranny, Fake Climate Conference and I have to say, I do not know what is more bizarre: What is going on with the elites inside the conference; or what is going on with the drones outside the conference. I keep seeing signs that say "Fuck the System". Um, yeah… sparky, you are the system's wet dream walking around in Copenhagen’s drizzle all pumped up on "climate justice". Whatever that is.  Apparently this is another popular catch phrase in barista land. Someone, please, remove the word “justice” from their new unabridged PC versions of Mao's Little Red Book.

Let's keep in mind, most of these "protestors" come from Scandinavian and Western European countries. Are they really that eager to pay $50 for a hamburger? What, the $25 they are currently paying is not enough?  Who and what exactly are they protesting?

The globalist elites are there working to usher in their dream of a one world government, communist utopia. Apparently it is what they want. Stores devoid of goods to buy and lots of time off. So, why the protests? It seems they are in agreement. They wish to be subjects in a feudalist society and the UN and WTO toadies inside seek to do nothing more than accommodate their every wish. Who is it, I wonder, that they think is going to pay for "climate justice". Hint it won't be the bankers, the elites or anyone in that conference. It will be the jackasses outside the conference and their families.

I don't see the debate. What's the problem?

Maybe they need to do a better job at articulating just what it is they want and they better do it quickly. If this treaty gets signed, the days of jet setting around the globe to attend protests will be coming to a close. In fact, the days of jetting off anywhere will become so prohibitively expensive, at best they will be able to tell their grandkids about the days when air travel was cheap enough for the common man. Of course, that is if they have grandkids, with the new population controls that will come with this new unelected and unaccountable governing body.

So, when they finally get what they want: a huge, unelected, unaccountable to anyone global instrument with the full authority to control the air, the land, the sea and everything under it -- and they do not like the results, and I promise you they will not like the results, who do they complain to? How do they air their grievances? By the ballot box? The only purpose of your ballot box, anymore, is to elect figureheads that provide the appearance of a function of local government. Nope, their officials are now in offices in places far from them. They are represented by no one and must answer to governance unaccountable to anyone.

Save the world? Even if the world were in peril, it would be a better alternative than what these malcontents have planned for us. The one bright patch -- the useful idiots are usually among the first to go.

The First Objective of Business by The Rational Jingo

I got nothin to add to this, she says it right.

2669699590_073bec49be_o I am about to state something very controversial to the left. The first objective of a business is to stay in business. People do not risk everything they have, often times, to create entities to employ others. They only hire others when they have so much business the only way to continue getting and keeping new business is with additional bodies and brains. It is that simple. To believe anything else, is to engage in utopian thinking.

The left has zero understanding of this. Perfectly illustrated by Barack Obama's own words last week. Obama seemingly never having actually held a job, let alone run a business and has never left the left wing bubble of academia, rabble rousing and the political class.

Hammer_&_Sickle OBAMA: “Despite the progress we've made, many businesses are still skittish about hiring. Some are still digging themselves out of the losses they incurred over the past year. Many have figured out how to squeeze more productivity out of fewer workers. And that cost-cutting has become embedded in their operations and in their culture. That Hammer_&_Sicklemay result in good profits, but it's not translating into hiring and so that's the question that we have to ask ourselves today: How do we get businesses to start hiring again?”

Let me also call in the words of pied piper of the deranged left, Michael Moore, to get a more thorough understanding of the mindset.

0ADCA4U5J2RCA6MHCQFCAR2B4MACA9BNS7YCAYJ0RUECAPDSINBCALXWISDCA091USCCA8O278GCAZAUYE7CAGGJ1E1CAUG3OM5CA55UWW1CA3ATDWDCATLO6SBCABHMG1HCAL82IBMCAX29VS8CA9EL11N "F##k all these small businesses — f##k ‘em all! Bring 0ADCA4U5J2RCA6MHCQFCAR2B4MACA9BNS7YCAYJ0RUECAPDSINBCALXWISDCA091USCCA8O278GCAZAUYE7CAGGJ1E1CAUG3OM5CA55UWW1CA3ATDWDCATLO6SBCABHMG1HCAL82IBMCAX29VS8CA9EL11Nin the chains. The small businesspeople are the rednecks that run the town and suppress the people. F##k ‘em all. That's how I feel."~Micheal Moore

Where do you even start with this stuff? The chief reason the left is able to get away with this is that our young people are absolutely clueless and have been brainwashed for most of their young lives to see the government as the source of all good things and private industry as the harbinger of all of life's ills. But it is one thing when it is a 21 year old college student who wants to throw a brick through the Starbuck's window. It is quite another when it is the leader of what is left of the free world saying hopelessly ignorant and irresponsible things such as:

”Many have figured out how to squeeze more productivity out of fewer workers…”

nra_eagle_we_do_our_part Obama is so completely and hopelessly ignorant of the real world he actually thinks that a businessman adjusting his operations in order to meet changing economic conditions is some kind of trick of exploitation and greed. He actually believes this stuff. What is next? Hiring quotas? Taxes on lay offs and not meeting quotas? 32 hour work weeks? [ok, I lied, I do want to add one thing…this statement is not even rhetorical, it isnt even satirical.  I believe very much that if Big O had his way this is absolutely where we would be heading.  Google “Blue Eagle” and read up on it.  It has been done HERE before.]

People are not hiring because of his administration. They have zero faith that things are going to improve. Some are even closing the doors in anticipation of how bad things are going to get.
Green Jobs: Environmentalism on the outside; Red Communism in the inside These are common sense laws of supply and demand. Calling it the "new" economy, "green" jobs" or whatever collectivist code word is in vogue does nothing to change it. Supply and demand.

Say, I am a businessman, and once I reach a certain level of profit, I can and need to hire help. Employee and I make more money, and we soon reach enough profitability to hire employee #2. In comes Government with taxes, fees and regulations I must comply with. Profit level decreases. Government returns and taxes me even more. Now, I must lose an employee. Government is threatening me with more taxes by promising the country free stuff. I do not replace employee #1 and I think about losing employee #2.

The effects ripple. I am no longer as productive. The guy down the road where I buy product X to make my product Y is getting less orders from me and people in my similar situation. And there are many of us. He makes adjustments and has to reduce his workforce. Like dominoes we all fall.

It's simple, basic, and irrefutable common sense. There are no alternatives. They've all been tried. You can re-label collectivism, repackage it, re-brand it, and      villain-ize free market principles and business all day long but at the end of the day collectivism still fails everywhere it is implemented.

Plan For Obama Care written by a Felon

Big h/t to Blackandgoldfan here

http://therightstuffbng.blogspot.com/2009/12/healthscare-felons-creation.html

Obamascare: A Felon's Creation

Big Government.com is now breaking the news that the game plan followed by the Dems to get socialized medicine passed was authored by a federal felon.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) has pushed for a public option within the healthcare debate. Now meet her husband, Robert Creamer.

From biggovernment.com:
Rep. Schakowsky’s husband, Robert Creamer, used to be the leader of Citizen Action/Illinois. He also founded its predecessor, Illinois Public Action, in which Ms. Schakowsky served as Program Director. He runs a political consulting firm, the Strategic Consulting Group, which lists ACORN and the SEIU among its clients and which made $541,000 working for disgraced former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich.

Creamer resigned from Citizen Action/Illinois after the FBI began investigating him for bank fraud and tax evasion at Illinois Public Action. He was convicted in 2006 and sentenced to five months in federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana, plus eleven months of house arrest.

Now while Creamer was in prison, he wrote a book titled Listen to Your Mother: Stand Up Straight! How Progressives Can Win (Seven Locks Press, 2007). In it he outlines how to get socialized medicine rammed down the throats of the American people.

The ten points outlined by Creamer:

“We must create a national consensus that health care is a right, not a commodity; and that government must guarantee that right.”
“We must create a national consensus that the health care system is in crisis.”
“Our messaging program over the next two years should focus heavily on reducing the credibility of the health insurance industry and focusing on the failure of private health insurance.”
“We need to systematically forge relationships with large sectors of the business/employer community.”
“We need to convince political leaders that they owe their elections, at least in part, to the groundswell of support of [sic] universal health care, and that they face political peril if they fail to deliver on universal health care in 2009.”
“We need not agree in advance on the components of a plan, but we must foster a process that can ultimately yield consensus.”
“Over the next two years, we must design and organize a massive national field program.”
“We must focus especially on the mobilization of the labor movement and the faith community.”
“We must systematically leverage the connections and resources of a massive array of institutions and organizations of all types.”
“To be successful, we must put in place commitments for hundreds of millions of dollars to be used to finance paid communications and mobilization once the battle is joined.”
That was easy, wasn't it? Think about all the games played by the Dems in this battle of socialist proportions. They've followed this almost step-by-step.

More on this story will be hitting the web soon. Please read the article at biggovernment.com. It speaks volumes.

Btw....Schlakowsky and Creamer were in attendance at the "crashed" State Dinner. Could it be another political quid pro quo?

The Rational Jingo: So, how do we turn them off?

If I have not said it recently, I absolutely love this woman’s capitalist loving freedom loving soul.  She says it great.  This was a natural follow up to my previous post:  The difference between faith, and science

So, how do we turn them off?

BLAH BLAH BLAH I am talking about the disciples of the Al Gore New Church of Global Warming. Now, that what we thinking people have known all along has been proven to be true; global warming is a big, fat scam designed to pilfer wealth and freedom from, mostly, Americans. Whatever are we going to do with all the followers that are all hopped up on global warming hysteria?
Oh sure, they can still carry around little net bags to get their groceries and ride their bikes but they are going to have a harder time getting mostly everyone else to go along with them. And that is what it was really always about, wasn't it? It was never about saving the planet. It was about reducing us all one level. No longer would they need to feel inadequate. They longed for the razing of the McMansions and they were giddy at the prospect of forcing us all into the cities and onto public transportations. Yes, those breeding bourgeoisie were finally going to get theirs.
It was never an issue getting the Europeans to go along with it. They already pay most of their income to the government, what's a few more percentage points? Plus, they have always been known to cut off their nose to spite their face, if it meant knocking those fat and stupid Americans down a few pegs. In Copenhagen, they are already powering their Christmas tree display with human produced energy ala Fred Flintstone. You already see more bikes than cars in Copenhagen so the lifestyle change wouldn't be so dramatic. What's a few thousand years anyway?
Global warming was an easy sell for urbanites who misjudge the state of the   entire planet based on their experience living in filthy and polluted looking cities. If you are constantly inhaling fumes from city buses or looking out at the haze hanging over LA it is probably very easy to just assume the world is going to hell in a hand basket and somebody (meaning someone in the government or someone with a lot of letters after his name) needs to do something.
My prediction, these sheep will not be deterred and will be just as willing to Eco Freaksbe led by the global warming hucksters. Even with the evidence that it is all a big fraud. Even with the untold damage that this type of conformist thinking is going to do to our scientific bodies and minds. These people, the true believers, will not be deterred and we are stuck with them. They have found their perfect cause and they are not going to give it up that easily because it was never about the planet it was about envy and filling a vacuous hole in their soul.

The difference between faith, and science

The Theory of Relativity, the Theory of Natural Selection (not to be confused with religion of evolution) and the Theory of Plate Tectonics are just that: theories. These are not recognized as laws. Science does not work that way.
Scientific method works by a process of elimination. A hypothesis, or educated guess, is proposed. An experiment is designed and facts are gathered. One solid piece of contrary evidence can disprove the hypothesis but no amount of evidence in support of the hypothesis proves the theory. Dis-proving alternate or competing hypotheses is the only way to strengthen a hypothesis. This is the only logical way of handling complex problems involving many variable factors.

This is illustrated by the White Swan exercise. If I say that all swans are white how many swans do I have to show you to prove my hypothesis is true? 100, 1000, 10,000,000? No, I have to demonstrate that every swan past present or future is or was white. How many swans of any different color have to be found to immediately disprove my hypothesis? One. In the case of Einstein's theory of relativity, it has not been proven true, but all competing theories have thus far been disproven. The same with continental drift and plate tectonics. Likewise with natural selection.
So for obamarx, algore, or some other political moronic gas bag to say that the science is settled and the debate is over on anthropogenic climate change, i.e. Global Warming, is not only absurd but untrue and impossible according to the scientific method and all logic.

What it is, is a belief based on faith. I will not debate the sociological merits of religion or my particular beliefs here. Religion can and most times is a positive influence in the lives of people. But there are beliefs, that especially when taken to extreme, are destructive. The current radical followers of this movement are destructive. It does not bother me that a person chooses to believe in the green movement. We are all entitled to our beliefs. All that I am asking is that we call it what it is and not set public policy based on hypotheses which are not capable of being proven and ate NOT universally accepted.
Christianity and Greenism are both faith based ways of explaining the world.

Let me illustrate:
A long long time ago the earth and all that is in it was brought into existence. All the animals and plants lived in harmony and nature and it was wonderful. After a period of time humans arrived on the scene and became the dominant species on the earth and soon after that things began to go horribly wrong. People were wicked and did many things to hurt the natural order of things. They were warned that unless they ceased their wicked ways and returned to the more original way of things they and the earth would be destroyed. Part of man's redemption can be obtained by living in a prescribed manner and denying oneself certain pleasures. Some people are encouraged to live a life of chastity and pacifism. There are certain proscriptions against eating certain foods and rules for the proper growth and preparation of foods. Certain rules regarding sex and procreation are observed. The proper use and distribution of money is laid out. Treatment, and care of animals is discussed.

Now, what have I described, judeo-Christianity and Islam, or the green/animal rights/ environmentalist movement?

It is not science. It is a religion. It is a religion masquerading as science. And it is a false religion and poor science at that. And now we have the emails that not only prove their was an active effort to supress alternate data and hypotheses, but that the perpetrators knew it was not science all along.

As to your personal religious beliefs, believe what you want; I suppport your right to do so, let's just acknowledge that is what they are, and don't force them on me.

Update:
My Good Blogging Friend Foutsc from over at Western Hero had this to add:
Good explanation, Kook. The word "Science" is thrown around to induce hushed silence in the masses, many of whom have no idea about what you just described. No shame in that, all of us are not scientists.

"To piggyback upon what you said, peer review means you turn over the raw data and your experiment methods so others can independently verify or refute your conclusions. Since they've destroyed much of the raw data, that is impossible.  Global Warming is a Global Swindle.  I posted something similar to this today." Why the (His)Panic, Why we are missing the boat with Latinos?

hspncgop2 Western Hero: Why the (His)Panic?

This is a superb piece that I found over on Western Hero by the DeviledEgg posted by Foutsc.  I just want to add my .02c.  I love Latino people.  I love the food, and the culture, their sense of family, their work ethic, and I love the language, even though I am terrible at speaking it.  We, as Conservatives, MUST learn how to reframe the argument.  Our beef is not RACISM.  Our beef is the Rule of Law.  It is not “we don’t want any immigration”, the statement is “we want our immigration laws respected”  But Deviledegg is right, the fault really does lie on our side of the border.  We have got to figure out how to reach out and change the language.  That is what the Liberal Establishment does all the time, they change the language.  Because Latinos are naturally conservative.  They have seen what governmental corruption and the lack of rule of law create…that is why they are leaving their countries. Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Colombia, Mexico, and Cuba… not noted for low corruption and rule of law.

The issue really is not immigration, the issue is one of being law abiding.  If a person will break a law to enter the country, at what point to we believe that a law is important enough to follow?  More importantly, what laws do we expect THEM to follow…  anyway, on to the deviled egg’s rant:

Why the (His)Panic?

** Unhinged DeviledEgg Rant Alert! **

Alright, I'm really PO'd about illegal immigration!
To think that the retards in congress would reward criminal trespass and identity theft with free US citizenship galls me. It also chaps my ass that any foreign fertility goddess who crosses the border can squeeze out a pup and, bingo! She's won the US lottery!
Who's stupider than us, huh?

But anyway, I started this rant because Hispanics in America are getting a bum rap, and it ain't fair. They ain't all illegal, and the ones that are wouldn't be here if the US Chamber of Commerce, businesses, and the Democratic party hadn't lured them with open borders, pathetic immigration enforcement, no-questions-asked employment and a cornucopia of social services only dreamed of south of the border.

We keep hearing they will one day be the largest demographic group in the US, and whitey is supposed to tremble at the thought. Well, that's like saying German-descent people are the majority now. Yeah, it's true, but your average Yank don't know any Deutsche besides Der Wienerschnitzel and beatchen. We've assimilated.

Hispanics assimilate easily
I know, some treat your neighborhood like little Jalisco, slaughtering hogs in the front yard and playing mariachi music all night... But give them a generation or two. Texas is filled with people with Hispanic last names who don't know a lick of Spanish.

How do I know Hispanics are easily assimilated? The evidence is all around us!
If a guy's name is Jose Ramos and he don't talk like the Frito Bandido no more, he's assimilated!
Hispanics intermarry like crazy. Like coffee and milk, American whiteys and Latin lovers just can't help mixin' it up. And the results are beautiful (excuse my moment of soft-boiled weakness).
If you say to some guy named Rodriguez, "Oye vato! Que onda?" and he says, "Excuse me, I'm with a patient right now," he's assimilated!

The average Hispanic newcomer is:
* Christian
* entrepreneurial (No safety nets in Latin America!)
* hard working (again, no safety nets...)
* anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage, anti-tax
* willing to live in a one bedroom apartment with 58 other men until he saves up for a place of his own
* and almost as friendly as a drunken Irishman

la-raza It's a natural GOP constituency if we can just get them out of the shadows and free them from the clutches of social workers waving food stamps and La Raza plying them with illegal ballots and fake drivers licenses.
Here in Europe, the average Brit, Swiss or Dane would trade their Muslims for our Hispanic "problem" in a heartbeat. Count your blessings, Dammit!
*********************************************
The DeviledEgg is prone to unhinged rants, childish outbursts, and fits of anger, but he's really a good egg once you get to know him. He is half German and half American and splits his time between the two countries. Western Hero is proud to add him to the team.

And I am proud to repost this great post

Healthcare: Everything is Free but Nothing is Readily Available

This is from one of my favoritist Bloggers in the whole world, KMBR.  I did add a few pictures. Otherwise, it is all her, in typical fantastic fashion.

“ Everything is Free but Nothing is Readily Available

Young Rondaldus MagnusOr so the old saying went about the former Soviet Union. Most Americans do not know and many would not even care the the former Soviet Union was the first country to have free healthcare as a "right" for all written into it's constitution. With the revolution and the Pollyann-ic belief that everyone could be made equal came the dismantling of what was the old Russian medical system into the new system ushered in by the Bolsheviks.
First let us remember that the Russian Revolution occurred in 1917. Life spans were shorter and life on the whole was harder. The system as it stood was basically a free market system of sorts. Doctors, who were highly educated and respected, were guaranteed a high standard of living. The people paid for the services. Doctors sometimes gave their services freely or accepted whatever could be offered as payment- livestock, leatherwork, food, etc.
Was it perfect? Is anything? A little known fact is that the Russian medical system and Russian medical research in the early 1900s was internationally recognized.

ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL...but some are more equal than others

Usher in Lenin and the Bolsheviks who tear it all down. Oh boy, is this ever starting to sound familiar? They tear it all down to rebuild it. Now everyone is equal and has access to the same medical care. The greedy doctors and the greedy rich can no longer have the best of this system. The system is gone. The private clinics are gone.
The doctors are no longer the best and the brightest but are chosen but virtue of status in the Soviet system. Yes, some animals were more equal than others. Enrollees into medical school were chosen by social class —worker, peasant, or intellectual. Not long after the Soviet affirmative action system was expanded to include gender and ethnic classifications also. Every class, gender, and ethnic group had a quota for admission into institutions of higher learning.

All this should be sounding very, very familiar by now. Very familiar. Obama Statist
Rather than choosing a physician, you were appointed to medical facilities in your area. You had no choice who you saw. Instead of the market dictating salaries and medical expenditures, they were now part of a fixed budget expense in the Soviet balance sheet. Doctors were put on fixed state salaries and required to see as many people as they saw fit or didn't see fit. What did it matter anyway? Getting rid of a bad doctor or a drunk doctor was virtually impossible in the now completely unionized, state owned system.

Universal Healthcare- CommunismDid the Bolsheviks or their class of elites use this medical system? Of course not. They had access to their own, special medical care complete with western technologies and medicines. They were not going to be subjected to the low par and filthy conditions of the people's system. As a side note, our leadership does not even give the pretense of pretending to subject themselves to the system they are forcing upon us.

sheep1_medium No Soviet citizen really knew much else. As a closed society, they were told they had the best of the best. They were told how fortunate they were because the American capitalist system had people dying in the streets. Those that knew better were either disposed of or kept their mouths shut to avoid being disposed of.

Everything is Free In short, by the end of the 20th century Soviet Russia had one of the poorest medical systems in the world. Now imagine the Soviet medical system in a world where say it could only be held up in comparison the the DHS in Britain or the Canadian system? Suddenly the bar is much lower and that is by design. One day it will be our children who believe they are receiving the best of the best and there will be nothing exceptional to compare with the substandard. It will be the norm if this is not stopped and, as was often the case in our history, it is the cognizant 30 percent among us that are the last vestige.
