My Plan for Term Limits

I propose we limit all politicians to two terms

Barney-Frank-Jail-Justice2

One Term In Office; One Term in Prison.

Many States are already doing this!

Not at all, Chris, of interest to you, Nasa launched the first shuttle replacement to day. I attempted to get a photo of it. You will see the results of my attempt shortly. (Mother nature treated me just as she did NASA)
we could really help ourselves out and cut down on costs if the terms were served concurrently and Sherriff Joe was the Jailor!

I hear ya! I'd vote for him for President in a heartbeat. The government would run like that commercial where the firefighters run the senate.
is that like the one where the loggers run divorce court?
Yes, it was actually before the logger one. I think it is Sprint/Nextel because I always see them when watching NASCAR races. that logger one is great where they cut everything in half. then the Dog comes up and the judge says "JOINT CUSTODY" The Firefighter Senate was the first in that series.
LOL..Pretty funny.

Sheriff Joe is a brave man. I'd bet he sleeps with one eye open.

Hi kmbr, I bet he sleeps with a shotgun as a pillow, and his bed is lined with pistol holsters, all fully loaded, with one eye open.
I have to agree with your idea of term limits. lol
I like the idea of term limits, but here's the argument against it: Congressional staffers are not term limited, they are civil servants. So you would end up with an unelected mandarin class leading newly-elected neophytes around by the nose.

I still love the idea, we just need to iron out some wrinkles.

Congressional staffers are hired and fired by the elected officials. (Since the Foley Scandal it is apparent that they serve other purposes too)
The effect it would have is not allowing and Olympia Snowe or a Ted Kennedy to be head of every commission and department in Congress. The power would stay with the people because it would be a given that somebody will only be a congressman or senator for so many years and then they must go so they would never become as powerful as Kennedy, Feingold or McCain.
I understand what foutsc is saying and I have thought about that too. I think it has probably gotten cpletwly out of hand with the amount of staff there is anyway. I hate the idea of the bureaucrats running everything more than they do now. There has to be some way to solve the issue.

I went to foutsc's blog. He has us linked on his blog roll . If we have room I think we should add him to ours if you have not already. Note that he did not ask anything in return which I really appreciate. That earned him lots of "cool points" in my book
