Charlie Rangel may skip a Public Trial but the Three Ring Circus will be Remembered in November

by the Left Coast Rebel

A reader sends breaking news and asks a question. In the LCR mailbox:
Lawyers have reached a tentative deal to settle ethics charges against Rep. Charles Rangel. If approved by the House ethics panel, the deal would stop public hearings on alleged ethics violations.

The buck stops no where with these guys - what do you think?

I simply wrote back, "every infringement stacks up to more electoral losses for the Democrats in November."

To expand upon this - perhaps a public trial would not be as damaging for the Democrat party and leadership (and potentially at the ballot box in November) as yet another smoke-filled-backroom-attorney-power-broker-deal is. I recall similar antics played out during the train-off the-tracks Republican congress and we all recall how that turned out.

Charles Rangel cutting a deal to avoid a public trial may just incite more anger from independents, Tea Partiers, libertarians, moderates and conservatives than the ruling class is estimating.

If only I had photoshop skills, images of Charlie Rangel and a three ring circus are flooding my mind:

When the dems and BO got elected, I knew it was going to be a circus. I just didn't know it would put Ringling Bros. to shame. If Rangel had charges FILED with this corrupt congress, he must had been really stupid or really open about it because otherwise nobody would pay any mind. Hey Harlem, show some honor and vote this evil, corrupt, greedy moron out. He's NOT looking after you, he's only looking after himself. Given how Harlem is, I'm not holding my breath.

Many in Harlem don't want to lose their food stamps, rent controlled housing, endless supply of crack and prostutes. Rangel would take all the "fun" out of Harlem.

Folks, this is just in jest. NYC is a far better place since Rudi cleaned house. Rudi would make a good running mate for a strong pro-liberty (libertarian leaning Republican) presidential campaign in 2012.
Does anyone besides me think that the public trial was avoided to prevent Rangel's ethics probe from spreading to other DC politicians? The Dems would actually win politically if they made a big show out of prosecuting one of their own. It would at least give the appearance of cleaning house which would play well with naive voters (the Dem voting base).

Call it a hunch but I tend to think that both Rangel and Steele (RNC) still have their political positions for one reason. (Gotta clarify your meanings when you mention Steele and "positions".)
By the way, I just wanted to say welcome to Left Coast Rebel as a guest contributor. He is one of the best out there at promoting freedom within the realm of political debate. It is truly an honor to be able to publish some of his material here. LCR has been a great help to us since very early on.

Now KOOK and LCR are sharing posts which gets our material on his blog which gets far more traffic and we get LCR as a part time contributor. Beyond his excellent material, LCR brings bigtime blogger cred to our concept of how the print media used to be back in the days when a local newspaper actually supported America wholeheartedly. So, good luck LCR and thank you for sharing your work and readership with us. I hope that we can help usher in a time when the media will again support America, and liberty will be the rule rather than the exception
LCR - you should have asked about Photoshop: AD33 could do it...he is pretty darn good at that sort of thing.

I don't even have Photoshop except for on my iPhone. I have a few other basic photo editors that can do decent stuff when combined with IPhoto and comiclife, but nothing as fancy as Photoshop.

I maintain my view that Rangel will bring others down with him, but with this deal, the big fish will have to wait until November to get kicked out of the pond.
Oh. Thought u did

I could get Rangel into a circus fairly easily with what I have but I doubt it will be today as I am a tad sore from the last few days. I probably won't move much today.
It looks like Maxine (this liberal is going to take...I mean socialize)Waters is in some trouble too. I wonder if Rangel is singing like a bird.
