The 5000 year leap...really amazing.

Thomas Jefferson saw the exact way that our economy has now failed. Fractional banking...abuse of credit by banks and doing business on capital that doesnlt exist.

Folks, there are no new ideas or really new problems...and the founders knew it, and tried to prepare us for it.

The real problem started to happen when it became o.k. to give your children to the government for 12 hours a day and then assume they will be properly educated. People didn't realize how by the 1950s children were already being indoctrinated on how the Constitution and their God given rights were to be interpreted. This move to indoctrinate children began with the establishment of the public school system. America has steadily declined since. Now we are about to fall off a cliff with the next generation of children. This is undoing everything the founders' preparations.

I agree.
When the Progressives/Statists/Socialists/Communists...collectivists...whatever you want to call them started their movement they immediately started with the children. Tyrants have always known this is how to usurp power.

I believe that our best hope is that young people tend to rebel against the "perceived establishment." Our young people are used to a certain way of life and as that goes away, they will become anti-establishment as they did in the 1960s. This time the "establishment" will not be perceived as conservatives or traditionalists. The pendulum will swing back at some point.

In the short term, Obama's move to not release the photos of so-called torture of military detainees tells me that there must be some serious resistance being felt at the White House now. I believe Obama's real poll numbers if there could be such a thing would be much lower that the 60% everybody says he has. This resistance will only get stronger as Obama tries to meddle in "health care" during a worsening economy. The Clinton Administration tried the same thing with disastrous results in 1993.
