Hatch: Sotomayor has 'a problem' - Andy Barr - POLITICO.com

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said Thursday that Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s past statement that the “court of appeals is where policy is made” would be a problem for her if she were nominated for the Supreme Court.
“That's a problem,” Hatch said during an interview on Fox News after being shown a clip of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals judge’s comment.
“She would have, I think, a more difficult time if she was nominated because of statements like that, and, of course, she has a whole raft of opinions that I think would have to be scrutinized very carefully,” he said.

The Republican senator said that in his conversations with President Barack Obama, he has been assured that the president will pick someone “in the jurisprudential mainstream.”

As if Obama could find Mainstream American values with Both hands, a roadmap, a mirror, a geosynchronous spy satellite, and a TomTom.

I am so relieved. I thought when Obama made those comments that he wanted someone with compassion and that understood social issues or what ever he said that it really meant he wanted a crusader for the liberal cause. My bad. I have yet to understand this new age of "transparency" with Obama. He is so smart and uses so many big words that stupid people like me get confused.
By the way, I read that Obama has TomTom installed on his teleprompter. That is so wise of him. That way the same thing that tells him what to say, tells him where to go. If only I worked for TomTom, I could tell him where to go. :)

Good One!

Everytime I see him speak I keep thinking someone is going to do like in Anchorman, and he will say something totally crude because the teleprompter told him to.
"As a "Cat's rights advocate," I plan to nominate a black atheist muslim lesbian liberal activist female cat to the Supreme Court! Those are the qualities I seek in a Supreme Court Justice since that's what matters most to 95% of all Americans."

That is what would get slid on to Obama's teleprompter if it was me that could pull of such a thing. I bet he'd finish reading it to the press before he realized what he said.
Just say no to Soto. Obama voted no on both of Bush's supreme court appointments, Republicans in the Senate should have no qualms about returning the favor.

Too bad there aren't enough real Republicans to make a difference. When Obama nominates a "Lesbian" to the Supreme Court, there will be a lot of very angry people in this country. When I told people he'd try things like this and nationalizing every private industry in this country many of my "Christian" friends laughed it off telling me I'm just a "conspiracy nut." Does it sound like I'm a nut now?
Yes...yes you are... And so am I
