Seeking to Save the Planet, With a Thesaurus - NYTimes.com - RIDICULOUS

WASHINGTON — The problem with global warming, some environmentalists believe, is “global warming.”

The term turns people off, fostering images of shaggy-haired liberals, economic sacrifice and complex scientific disputes, according to extensive polling and focus group sessions conducted by ecoAmerica, a nonprofit environmental marketing and messaging firm in Washington.

Instead of grim warnings about global warming, the firm advises, talk about “our deteriorating atmosphere.” Drop discussions of carbon dioxide and bring up “moving away from the dirty fuels of the past.” Don’t confuse people with cap and trade; use terms like “cap and cash back” or “pollution reduction refund.”

They Know it is a Loser.  They know it is total crap. So they do what they always do when the public starts to figure out the lies.  They always change.  Liberal/Progressive/Liberal/Progressive…  They re-label the crappy product.  If it was a good idea, then they would not have to wrap it in pretty paper, and perfume it all up.  They do it because we know it stinks.  There was a recent poll that asked people to put certain issues in order.  Out of like twenty five issues including the Economy, Healthcare, Taxes, Education, Immigration, abortion, Wars, 2nd Amendment, Bailouts, on and on…Yeah it was dead freaking LAST.  Few people believe it, and the more they exaggerate and elevate and inflate it, the more they preach it and beat that drum, the LESS people believe it.  The sad truth is sooner or later people begin to trust their “lying eyes”.  We see it getting cooler.  They used to preach global cooling, then it was global warming, now they just call it climate change, because they cannot reconcile their message with the truth.

Since when has “proven science” when the “debate has been settled”  needed a Focus Group and Marketing Department? Since when does verifiable impending doom need a Branding effort?

This just proves how ridiculous it is.
