One More Short Comment on Race

Two Definitions and then a short comment.

Ethnicity (n) a term which represents social groups with a shared history, sense of identity, geography and cultural roots which may occur despite racial difference

Race (n) A local geographic or global human population distinguished as a more or less distinct group by genetically transmitted physical characteristics.

Exactly. The United States is made up of Many Races, but SHOULD only be one ethnicity.
If you are not willing to modify your ethnicity to melt into the ethnicity of the USA then stay where you are.
The term "ethnic group" as a euphemism for "racial groups" is misleading.
Liberals say "ethnic group" when they mean "racial group". If they really meant "Ethnic" group or really better yet "subculture groups" they would actually be right. Ethnic groups have nothing to do with Race. It is a cultural phenomenon.

On "Heroes" the other night there was a very Asian looking truckdriver and Hiro and Ando thought he spoke Japanese, then he started talking and sounded 100% Texan. It was a good point on the difference between Race and Ethnicity.

There is a difference between appreciating your heritage and knowing where you come from and refusing to join the larger culture of the nation to which you belong.

I am against divisive subculture, I am pro racial diversity.
