Mr. Sunshine? Ron Paul Wins Support to Audit Fed Reserve -

Please please please…this would be like Christmas, new years, Easter, my birthday, your birthday, and Chanukah all rolled into one.  This would shine a light on so much corruption it would be like when the big trash truck picks up the dumpster from behind the Chinese Restaurant and millions of cockroaches scurry for cover.  The Fed is even more corrupt and evil than congress if that can be contemplated.  I have serious respect for Ron Paul.

Rep. Ron Paul so far has won 245 co-sponsors to a bill that would require a full-fledged audit of the Federal Reserve by the end of 2010.

All of a sudden, Congress is paying close attention to Ron Paul.

The feisty congressman from Texas, whose insurgent "Ron Paul Revolution" presidential campaign rankled Republican leaders last year, now has the GOP House leadership on his side -- backing a measure that generated paltry support when he first introduced it 26 years ago.

Paul, as of Tuesday, has won 245 co-sponsors to a bill that would require a full-fledged audit of the Federal Reserve by the end of 2010.

There are alot of former "Bush-Bots" that realize that Ron Paul is where most of us are at politically. I think alot of reps from both parties realize that Ron Paul is an anti-progressive threat and they also realize that should he decide to go against the grain so to speak, he has alot of young, conservative and independent support. Add those together and you get the clout to win an election or start a successful third party in the same way the Republicans were formed in the 1850s. That scares the RepubliDemocrat establishment in a big way. I believe that is why everybody is trying to keep Ron Paul happy because they know history. The mood now is identical to the mood preceding the formation of the Republicans. You had the Democrats and the Whigs and there was no difference between them. Neither party cared about listening to the people because they ran everything. In one election cycle, the whigs died out and the Republicans got the majority and the White House. At the time, there were more independents than voters registered to both other parties combined. Hmmm...that sound familiar, oh yeah, that is what is going on now. Imagine that. KOOK, I know what you will say but in 1992, everybody was either a Deomcrat or Republican. Now both combined do not equal independents and Ron Paul resonates with that group.
Part of the difference you and I have over this is just semantics. I would love for a third party canidate to win. Love it. I would have loved for Perot to win. I would love for Ron Paul to trounce Chairman Zero and just absolutely tear washington apart.

But I am just not sure it would happen.

It would take the people being so mad at Republicans and the Democrats at same time that they would be not far from desiring secession. Wait a minute...isn't that how things are now?
It wasn't like that in 92. THere were just 2 Republicans versus Clinton although Perot would have been a non-progressive in my opinion, we weren't ready for it. I believe that now we are as a nation. I see a very strong historical similarity between now and the other 2 times in our history when new parties emerged. the 2010 election will tell the whole story.
